Testing Trees and City Scale

Forgive the haphazardly thrown in city block there. I just threw something down quick to test the scale. I wanted to see how the mountain assets would look on a smaller scale. I'm pretty happy with it. You can really really push the limits of depth. I could imagine the things you can do with tiered cities, and it's pretty exciting!

For trees/vegetation, I think the simple "spotted" brush/assets looks the best. If you aren't zooming in to a level to distinguish individual trees, this looks great. Then I added some fog in the valley shelf below just for kicks.

Let me know what you guys think of these types of trees and if it's something I should continue to peruse.

EIDIT: I added a second pic with a more detailed style of trees. These look a lot more like a tree canopy at the city level I think.

Looks great! Your assets really give a more realistic vibe than others, making them a great breath of fresh air. The trees look fine to me.

I think I agree. I mean zoomed out on a "state/kingdom/world" level the spotty thing works better (that's hat they look like that far out). But I think at a city region level some I like the idea of more defined trees. Probably a good idea to make tree assets for both scales.

I like the potentiality of this setup! I will say that the spotted brush makes it seem like thick vegetation, but not so much like trees per say. If they were closer together in "splotches" so to speak, with some shadow underneath to give depth, I think they could really pop and be distinguished as trees a lot more easily. Love the idea though, and tiered cities would be fantastic with the topographic mountains.
