Do you mean to use the rope simulation tag?

I wouldn’t do it with HoRope anymore, you could try the new engine, that’s way faster and you don’t need to bake alembics

Hi Vincent, I have a question. I was trying to recreate the "Follow tracer" animation. You mentioned that you baked all the individual ropes for the scene setup. When you said this do you mean you baked all the sweeps again, or all the elements? And how are you able to easily scrub through the scene even when the sweep and all other elements are still in the scene and active?? I am only able to scrub easily through the animation when I keep the alembics and delete the other elements. Sorry for the long text. Thank you so much!

Are there any work around if you are on R23, I cannot seem to get the pluggin to work. Or would you suggest trying to find a older version to get it running? Thanks!

Just a tip to anyone using this with r21: So I tried this in r21 and everything works great, except that the rope doesn't move with the controllers when you make HoRope editable. Seems like the collision settings in the dynamics tag on each controller is different in r21 when you break the object. Solved it by changing the inherit tag to None and turn off individual elements, and then it works fine again. Just thought I'd point this out in case someone had the same issue.(Matthew Schoen)

Hey i have this issue too. Dynamics works, but if i try and move the target/root controls nothing happens

Maybe it is a bug my C4D has but if I create a spline and move the points of the spline my dynamics doesn't work. If I create a spline by free hand the Horope plugin works fine. Is this happening to anyone else? By the way im in R21

The plugin doesn't work in R23, I got the same behavior as you.

I'm having a similar problem in R23. In my case it's installed and I can use it in C4d but when i put a spline into the horope object it doesn't display - all the horope setting appear but no geometry in the viewport besides my bare spline. Any luck with figuring it out?

Did you unzip the file, is the plugin in your plugin folder? Are other plugins working? Did you download the correct version? https://github.com/pashaho/HoRope

Mine R20 doesnt loading this plug, i don`t understand is that problem with programm or with plug. I can't find a solution to the problem. I've watched so many videos on how to solve a similar problem but nothing seems to help. If someone prompts it will be cool. "The plugin simply does not load for me, there are no signs in the plugins. I point the path through the settings, but nothing happens." - the problem

Hi vicent, does the ho rope only work with splines? I want to apply this effect to a floor lamp but I dont find a way to do it

Your bones are still visible in the render. But they are hidden in your scene.

Hi Vincent - Cool stuff! But I got to 8:37 and tried a render with Cloner in Subdivision Surface set high and still have bones showing... they look like elbows on all the curves. Any thoughts?

Give your cube a bit bevel, that might help.
