Funnily enough one of the times when you guys were asking why Striker didn't just shoot him, Stolas asked the same thing and Striker responded that he's getting the "royal treatment and she must really hate him" So my take is because the initial hiring in EP 5 predated Stolas standing up for himself finally and putting her in her place demanding the divorce, So at the time just shooting him was enough then striker failed and then Stolas humiliated her so she upped the hit to torture then death
