Just finished binging through your reactions to this series, it was a lot of fun, except I wasn't able to watch season 2 episode 9 for whatever reason.

It's a reference to a side story in a book where there is a cosmic Axolotl god-thing and Bill makes a wish that if he's ever defeated, he'll come back in another place and another time. That statue of Bill at the end is real. The codes at the end of the episode lead to a website that started a massive mystery scavenger hunt with tons of clues and puzzles along the way that leads to that statue in Oregon. He came back, in our world. And people theorize that Stan's mind was saved since Bill was saved as well
