Comment by: Herman Diaz While not as important as the kiss, 1 of my favorite parts of 2x20 is Luz saying "wait, wait, wait" as if her friends were actually going home :3 Very cute!

2022-08-23 09:28:29 +0000 UTCThis episode wasn't done by the usual animation studio, and there were a lot of noticeable instances of the characters going off-model. Otherwise, I thought it was really good, with the Lumity kiss being an obvious highlight. They brought in a special animator for that scene to give it the attention it deserved, and it was such a relief to see that the show could get away with something like that; too many cartoons for this demographic either have had to wait until the very end, if at all, to include a kiss for their same-sex pairings, so it's fairly groundbreaking to see one prior to the final season. It's a little disappointing that they're still putting off the full reveal of Luz's palisman, especially since she won't have much to use it at this rate (thanks, Disney). My guess is that it will happen in conjunction with Luz making amends with her mom, symbolizing the completion of her character arc. Interestingly enough, Amity still had the portal key that she broke in Eclipse Lake in some of the early storyboards for this episode, which could be further evidence that they had make adjustments to the story in order to account for the shortened season 3.
