Besides the reveal that there have been multiple Golden Guards, the most interesting lore detail might be the Golden Guard sigil itself; it looks just like the symbol of Luz’s hometown.
When Darius was checking his Penstagram on the airship, posts from Raine, Lilith, and Alador Blight were all shown. Eda left comments under Raine’s profile, calling them a nerd before asking them to return her calls. Alador was bragging about the Abomaton 2.5 with the hashtag: “Who’s the hack now?”. He seems to have some kind of rivalry going on with Darius, so it was definitely directed at him.

This might be the closest thing to “filler” that this season will have at this rate, but it was still a pretty fun episode with some really good character development for Hunter and Willow. Ultimately, losing four potential recruits isn’t nearly as big of a deal as a defecting Coven Head who’s actively going against Belos, so Darius isn’t really risking anything by letting this slide.
The B plot with Luz and Amity wasn’t anything special, but it was a fairly concise way to nip a lot of the crazier fan theories in the bud. There was definitely a meta element to it, especially when the two were listing off actual theories related to Azura. I didn’t mind seeing a shorter, more lighthearted plot with the two.
