I-Land Ep. 3

Am I the only one who finds myself saying "love you too" at the end of your video?! πŸ˜‚

This episode is where we really start to see how emotionally and mentally stressful the whole experience had to have been for them. Every time there was a vote for dropouts they'd have to be already packed up and ready to move; later when the voting would change rankings, they'd have to be packed up and ready to change bedrooms, seats, etc. (or leave, for those who get eliminated). It had to give them such a short-term kind of mentality... like, leave it all on the floor because you can't know if you'll even be able to keep walking on it once the votes are in. Seeing/hearing Heeseung sob like that gets me every time I watch this. Every damn time. Survivors guilt is exactly what they have to be feeling, especially those who might not have done as well compared to some who had to leave. The level of emotional damage (we need Steven He for this one) we see in this show really is just crazy. Sure it works and helps them all become stronger, better performers, but good grief it can be hard on the heart to watch sometimes. The problem with the promoted G->I kids is that they still think of themselves as Grounders even though they're officially I-Landers from the moment the announcement is made. They feel very unsure of themselves and I think there are several good reasons for that, such as: -- not knowing how they'd fit dynamically into a group because they hadn't actually done a group performance in Ground -- not knowing what the judges thought of their individual performances, because there was no scoring (they just know they got promoted) -- feeling "less than" because they were Grounders to start with, as though they're the "best of the worst" and got promoted only because of a need to fill I-Land to capacity (note: I don't think of any of them as less than or the best of the worst, just meaning they might have felt like that about themselves due to the situation and environment) I'm with you, though - I wish they'd speak up and at least TRY for the good parts, regardless of who from I-Land might want them. Corn on pizza is an extremely Korean thing, lol. I first saw it in a K-drama (and in several shows since that one), and I thought it was a super strange thing to put on pizza. But... here's an article that explains a bit about how Korean-style pizza differs from what think of here in the West (or even in Europe). Personally, I'd try Korean-style if I could find a gluten-free one. https://thepizzaheaven.com/all-about-korean-pizza/ Hopefully you don't mind me spoiling this bit, since you're bringing up the idea of getting a performance in each episode but only having 4 tests... but there are actually 8, split into 2 distinct sections - Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 shuffles participants between I-Land and Ground, until test 4 results in the Final 12 who move on to the next stage. Part 2 is when rankings begin, and each test results in an eliminated contestant until the final test - at that point we have 2 eliminated and the final team is created (top 6 from global voting plus 1 chosen by judges). So yeah. Again, I hope you didn't mind me dropping all that, but you'll obviously be running into it soon anyway!
