I was starting to form a theory early in this episode that seems to have already been proven wrong by the end where I thought maybe the psycho was trying to use Heeji to bait Gookdoo away from his real target, Bongsoon. I think he's still really pissed that Bongsoon spoiled getting another "bride"/victim. Maybe he wants to use Heeji as bait to try and get rid of Gookdoo for good? Completely different tangent, but I wonder if we're going to get a scene with the doppelgangers together at some point? Also, agree on the point of making LGBTQ characters the butt of a joke. That said, I've seen a significant improvement within the last few years since this K-drama aired, where LGBTQ characters serve important roles within a storyline and are stood up for when attacked for their character (Itaewon Class comes to mind right away for example) and aren't simply there for a cheap laugh. Korea was one of the poorest countries, on par with current 3rd world nations just 60 years ago. That type of cultural whiplash really makes it hard for them to play catch up, but they are trying for sure. They're definitely aware how much their cultural media exportation is influencing their soft power, and that if they want to keep growing it they need to at least somewhat adapt to the more Western ideals of the large audience that's buying into them. SK also likes to stay on trend, which while that's not the reason people would like to see more/better LGBTQ representation in dramas and other media, it's at least a start in the right direction I guess.
