πŸ’š QOTM: What's the best compliment you've ever received?

Here, a ramble of my own. For most of my school years, I was doing very badly in English and other language related subjects. A combination of me having terrible cursive handwriting and not being able to remember all the language rules and exceptions to them. I pretty much accepted as a fact that I will never be good at it, and focused on other subjects. But it all changed when I decided to start writing in caps. The first teacher I submitted an essay written in caps to gave me an A+ and praised me in front of the whole class. Said I raised some excellent points, and that the whole paper was very well paced and structured. Don't know how much giving that small praise meant for her, but back then that compliment meant a world to me. Needless to say, I never went back to cursive. As the years went by I started learning how little stuff I was bad in, and what my old teachers scrutinized me for, actually matters in "adult/real life". You almost never write by hand, nowadays everything is written on a computer, so who cares how my cursive looks like? With autocorrect and spellchecking enabled, spelling and grammar mistakes are almost nonexistent. If you forget a word or want to sound smarter there are tons of thesauruses online. So yeah, if not for that one compliment I wouldn't have pursued writing in any meaningful way, and wouldn't be the same person I am now. That's why I think giving honest compliments is so important - you never know when you might change someone's life, and it's a whole lot better to change their lives by lifting them up and highlighting their strong suits, rather than bringing them down by criticizing and pointing out their shortcomings. Thanks for reading :)

I think if you genuinely don't have enough to talk about, you shouldn't force a Q&A every month, the rambly unscripted stuff is really nice to listen too tho. I can't remember if I really had a first impression of you tbh, but I have to agree with the story you told, you really do have the vibes of somebody I'd be too scared to talk to irl. :3 also question for next month: since it's kinda a pillar of the channel, favorite tomboy character(s)? hope august goes well! πŸ’œ

It doesn't have to be a Q&A. Just normal ramble audios are fun

Heya Gobbo!! I really enjoy listening to these "Goblin Thoughts" audios they'd be a fun time Q&A or not!! I'm happy that even with the issues you're still being positive. You definitely handle stress way better than me that's for sure, I shut down completely, no communication at all! You seem like a person that at first I'd be nervous around, but would quickly become friends with! I'm also excited for the tsundere maid, I know that I've been annoying lol. Ooh what's the best compliment I've received? None! I don't receive any cause I'm a moron and fugly, but since going to the gym a few people have complimented my beard, so I guess that's a compliment?!? I have a few questions, but I'll add more throughout the month. Since you asked us, what's the best compliment you've received? Have a lovely weekend Gobbo, Thanks for being youπŸ’š Why don't you like minions on discord? I had more questions before but you answered them in your birthday Q&A so I have no new questions at this time!

It’s great to hear from you again in these trying times. I’ll give it some thought in the meantime but i do enjoy these Q&As, i usually go back and listen through them when i have time during the month. Hmmm, the best compliment huh, that’s a tough one. As a performer i’ve received a lot of compliments but they’re so often surface level that i don’t take all that many to heart. I think perhaps the one that has stuck with me the most is one my older sister told me which was β€œKayle, i’m so proud of all the work you’ve done and the person you’ve become”. A lot of people validate the product of a performer, but neglect how much work goes into it. Thats why i always make sure to thank creators for the work they do, because I know how hard it. So thank you for everything you do gobbo! I think i speak for everyone when i say you make our days all a bit better c: I suppose for my first question since this’ll be read in august, is how did august go! Was august β€œit”? And also, what has been the messiest part of making content for you? I know for me, trying to figure out what sort of lay out i’d want for my videos has been difficult, i have like 10 different possible layouts saved in OBS XD Much love Gobbo πŸ’š
