We nearly ran low on Pecha berries because the researchers that spent time on Nidoran, both male and female, underestimated their poison, and exactly how it's delivered. For the female side of the coin, it was mostly male researchers having personal experiences, but the occasional female would be required to meet the Nidoran's tastes. It makes one wonder if that anomalous behavior carries over through evolution, because they typically begin docile and grow into aggression.
