The armed ornament is a most peculiar construct and often finds itself being adopted by venturers, forager or other soldiers of fortune – sometimes out of curiosity but usually out of pity. Unlike most automata, the armed ornament possesses at least a fragment of consciousness. Oddly enough, it is in no way aware of its quite harmless construction. If anything, the quirky creation is rather overconfident – at least as long as it holds on to its crumbly shield and fragile weapon.…
