The tarpole is the larval spawn of the quite fascinating and likewise dreaded tar toad. As tiny as this bubbly critter may be, it is – although unintentionally and just like its parents – responsible for the total annihilation of vast natural areas. While the tar-like substance it oozes hasn’t reached its full destructive capabilities yet, it is still highly flammable and can easily turn any dead water into a seething sea of flames.
