[VOTE/POLL] Set Length Preference - TIER 3
Added 2023-01-10 08:51:35 +0000 UTCI've been making longer and longer sets, with bigger environments and more detailed characters which is impacting my release schedule. I used to upload almost every week, but smaller sets. Whereas now I upload far less frequently, but with larger sets.
What do you prefer?
• Larger sets, but less frequent?
• Smaller sets, but more frequent?
More context about render times: This is a bit of a generalization, but usually 1 render would take approximately 4 - 6 hours. So every day, I can maybe squeeze in 2 - 3 renders.
If we take the office set, that's about 368 renders, give or take. That's 122 days of rendering. On weekends, I can do more renders, so that number would very likely be more around the 100.

I'm just polling to see where the interest lies, so I know what y'all want more of and so I can focus on that or change my ideas to that. I will not ONLY do short or long sets going by the end results of this poll. It's January, there's usually a decline in money for any artist but I know for a fact a lot of content creators on all platforms usually have less money around this time of year. Usually it picks up around the end of April again. People had the Holidays and New Years, maybe they check at the beginning of the year what monthly expendature they can drop, it's all good. That said, I've seen some stagnation monetarily since doing larger sets. So.. maybe there's the insecurity of not uploading enough mixed with this that's driven me to kinda gauge what people want. Business-wise, I think, shorter gets more attention. There's also a higher chance of doing something that catches the right group of people, if I did more shorter sets. For this year, however, let's experiment a bit and go longer. More story, longer sets. Small in-betweens. See what happens. Affect3D really likes longer sets, actually. :) I think you're right on the money regarding tests and techniques being very good for small sets. Maybe I learn something new, I wanna make something with it, small set. That's spot on. Thanks for letting me know your insights! :)

2023-01-11 18:58:48 +0000 UTCIf I could pick a variation of the two as a third option I would. I always appreciate both the longer sets and smaller sets in between. As you want a straight answer, I'll be upfront and say my preference will lay of course with the larger sets. I think it helps you set up more story or convey it better without using dialogue compared to the smaller sets. I know there were some things that weren't doing it for you with the Worked Out latest set but even there, you can see some character progress with Daria and Nina in how they interacted with each other when Nina first entered the set and how they interacted during the sex as well as to why Daria was even there in the first place with Amaya. I don't think you can get that with smaller sets. It might feel rushed in a smaller set environment but I guess rushed or not, if it still conveys some form of development, then it's not necessarily a bad thing to have smaller sets. I do feel the smaller sets do have good merit. They are quicker and could be used to test out new techniques and ideas to the point you are comfortable/happy with the results before turning them into a larger set. I think people will often always choose larger sets because you get more with what you pay. I really don't mind what you decide to do honestly. I think from a business POV, smaller sets might be better as you could them onto the Affect3d store faster/post on social media sites which could increase draws to your works.

2023-01-11 16:15:23 +0000 UTCThanks for letting me know! They both are great for different reasons, longer ones are great to get some character in there and do some more than just smut -- which I hope I am, more than just smut... They're both great, honestly...
