I think it's an Iray/Daz optimization issue. The further the distance from the camera the less accurate the light becomes, otherwise rendering something in Iray would take even longer or would require NASA-type computers.
At least, that's how I understand it, it could be bogus.
So, the optimization 99% of the time is something welcomed, you want the optimization.
But I think there's an oversight with decals like the liquid puddles and graffiti where it just doesn't accept shadows if it's too far.
I think a way to fix it, could be using a plane and indeed placing it on the wall manually. With decals, it projects the liquids and graffiti (in this case) onto the wall. You can imagine a projector shining the "light" (see: graffiti/liquids) onto the surface. So I can't clip it partially through the wall in this way.
So, I could take your advice and use a plane with that texture and I thought about doing that but, honestly, I'm kinda just done with this one. I'll take the L and try and hide it in the edit.
Regarding animations, yeah, quite possibly. I wanted to make a story and write in the past but it's been so long since writing anything and I don't see a change in.. mindframe any time soon, so I guess I'll make animations sometime soon.
Means I'm splitting my days in half though, I'm working on content for y'all and learning blender at the same time. So the content might scale down even further than it already has. :(
Porting took 15 minutes to set Blender and DAZ up, then took 2 button clicks and 15 seconds of waiting.
But.. I would still need to fix Nina in Blender... so the porting process isn't done and at this stage I'm just getting familiar with the controls and buttons and posing.
I can say, it feels so, so, so good to animate and pose in real time. In DAZ it's so slow.

Very weird with the decals. It's like it has some material to the edge that interacts with light depending on angle/distance. Noob question, but would it work by clipping the decal into the wall texture so that the edges clip in to no longer glow or is completely flat that by doing that the entire decal will get lost?
Ohhhh possible animations. Very exciting. You've mentioned in the past about this. Did it take long to port Nina?
