Slow day, scrapped a bunch of things, couldn't find my usual groove of making things.
So I chalked it up to a loss and learned a bunch of things.
DAZ Studio got an update, volumetric fog has officially been implemented and has seen significant improvements. The previous way I did it was kind of a glitchy, hacky way of doing it, now there's actual volumetric simulations. I'll make use of that a lot.
Probably removing some vellus hair, I'm seeing some finished renders that I've been doing recently and I don't think the effect is worth the extra effort/time. It tends to mess up when posing too.
Learned a quick way of thickening things with borders like the underwear that Nina is wearing. The actual underwear is actually a very flat, thin model but I learned a way to make it thicker WITH a border.
Spectral rendering (simply put: lighting isn't RGB in real life, spectral rendering adds that to to renders) has seen some improvements and changes, I'd love to use ACESCG rendering, which is new and industry standard, but I'd need to go back to all characters and make changes to their shaders. That's a lot of work. Gonna need to make a decision on that soon.
Some non-iray shaders are still broken, limiting what I can do.
Open to ideas on what to do next.
