Carida's heart thumps loudly in her chest.

Next Monday is The Day of Celestaria, a celebration of friendship, love, and new beginnings. As magic swells to incredible proportions on this one day of the year, the skies, waters, and air will be an enchanting pink. The fountain in the town square will be filled with rose petals, and many people, attuned or not, young and old alike, will enjoy this incredible day.

Carida has always dreamed of spending the day with another. She's spent the past couple days perfecting her recipe for heart-shaped cookies, perfecting her decorations of her red velvet cake, and perfecting the text she's about to send as an invitation to the girl she's seen a few times now.

She looks over the message once more. She's ready. She takes a deep breath, and taps send...
