Just recently passed a very romantic and cute holiday, Valentine's Day! And, of course, one of its main traditions is to create and send valentines filled with declarations of love!

So why not transfer this cute tradition and in our favorite life simulator? For this purpose, I made a mod for sending and receiving valentines, and Oduvnix created wonderful valentines!

HOW TO USE

Now more about how this mod works and what is included in it.

1. Holiday Tradition Giving and receiving valentines can only be done on a day with an active holiday tradition 'Send a valentine'.



This tradition is added to Love Day by default, but you can assign it additionally to any other day by creating a holiday.

2. Giving a valentine

On this day, your sims can give valentines in a variety of ways:

♡ Giving a love letter in person If your sim has a loved one and they are already in a relationship, starting from their teenage years, they will be able to please their partner and give a valentine in person: 'Romance' ⇢ 'Affection' ⇢ 'Give a valentine'.



♡ A secret valentine in a school locker

Teens you go to active school with will be able to discreetly put a valentine in the locker of a special one.

To do this, click on any school locker (except your own, it would be weird to put a valentine in your own locker): 'Send valentine' ⇢ 'Choose a sim you want to send it to (only NPC acquaintances of your sim)' ⇢ ' Choose which valentine you want to send'.

Also, this feature can be used not only by high school students, but also by children if you have Zerbu's Go to School mod. Simply place the school lockers on the elementary school lot!

♡ Valentine using a mailbox

Any sim, from a child's age upwards, can send a valentine to their favorite character by mail.

To do this, at the mailbox on the home lot, click: 'Send a valentine' ⇢ ' Choose a sim to send a valentine' (only NPC acquaintances of your sim) ⇢ 'Choose which valentine you want to send'.

 

3. Receiving a valentine

Whether your sim sent a valentine or not, they may get valentines from other sims throughout the day.

In the case of an active school day, this can happen at every school break and after school (so stay for 30-40 minutes at school in case someone does decide to!).

In the case of a rabbit hole, notification of valentines given will come when you return home from school. Also, sims may receive belated valentines in the evening.

 

The choice of sims sending valentines is far from random, a valentine should be expected from:

♡ a partner

♡ a Sim with a feeling of love

♡ a Sim who appreciates the attractiveness of your Sim.

♡ a good friend (in this case the valentine will be friendly).

This mechanism takes into account not only basic game behavior, but also First Impressions by Lumpinou and First Love by LittleMsSam. In addition, if you have Adeepindigo's Dynamic Teen Life installed, your teen's popularity status will affect the likelihood of receiving a valentine.

Also, each Valentine's gift you give them goes into your sim inventory. You can move them to a convenient inventory for you, for example, in the box of memories.

 

Sims can react differently to a Valentine's gift: they can be happy about the mutual gift, or they can feel awkward because they were expecting a Valentine's gift from other sims! You can see the reaction to a valentine both in the moodlet panel and in the sim profile.



If your sim does not receive any valentines for the day, however, they will be upset.

I hope that your sims will be lucky and someone will send a valentine!

LIMITATIONS

♡ You may only send a valentine (via mailbox or locker) to the NPC

♡ If you have several students in your family that you can actively go to school for, the others will miss out on receiving valentines when the school day ends.... However, they can still get a valentine in the evening!

♡ The NPCs you give valentines to cannot keep them in their inventory, so just keep an eye on their feelings panel!

♡ If you switch to another household during the day, the members of that household will not have the evening valentine events and summarizing that there are no valentines. So don't do it that way!
