Letter to Father Winter Mod

I think many as children asked for presents from Father Winter by sending him a letter. With this mod children and teens can do the same!

I think before Christmas, many asked for presents from Father Winter by sending him a letter. With this mod children and teens in the Sims will be able to do the same!

WRITING AND SENDING A LETTER

Every winter, children and teens who have a caregiver or parent in an active household have access to the ‘Write a Letter to Father Winter’ interaction. Within the main category, there are four subcategories of gifts (over 200 options in total!):

- Fun: portable electronics, toys, bikes, hobby and skill items, and books. Magic familars and spell books are available for spellcasters;

- Collectibles: crystals, MySims trophies, Simmie capsule figures and monster cards;

- Handmade items: bouquets and knitted clothes;

- Certificates: hobby shop (non-portable items for hobbies and skills), electronics (non-portable computers, stereo systems, TV and projector), decor (indoor plants, posters, nightlights) and toys (non-portable toys).

Important! Items from certificates and other categories do not overlap. So if you want to choose a gift that can be placed in the Sim's inventory, it will definitely not be in the certificates category. This is a limit of the game code.

The interaction is available on a private journal from the ‘ Parenthood’ pack, a journal from the ‘Life and Death’ pack and on computers. Sim can choose only one gift!

Once selected, you will receive a notification that the letter is ready and needs to be sent by selecting the corresponding interaction on the mailbox.

By successfully sending the letter, the child will receive a happy moodlet.

If the child doesn't have a caregiver or parent, then they can't write a letter (because they will be the ones making the wish on behalf of Father Winter!).

In that case, simply assign them a caregiver or adopt them to an adult in an active household. The child will then also be able to write a letter.

GIFT CHOICE BY PARENTS

Once a child sends a letter, parents/caregivers will be given the opportunity to select a gift for them on pile of gifts (NY or Birthday). This action is only available during the winter season - gifts need to be given on time! The choice can be made by any of the caregivers/parents if there is more than one.

For a child, you may choose a gift that they have requested. One gift will be available in the order menu, which is the one chosen by the child. If the required money is available, the gift will be purchased and a notification will appear that the child can open the gift.

You can also select one gift of your choice from the same categories that were available to the child when writing the letter. The menu will show all the gifts of the category except the one the child wants. That is, this action is for when you want to select a gift that the child did not ask for!

When a gift has been chosen, the child can receive it with a special action on the gift pile during the winter season. The gift can be found in the Sim's inventory.

If the child has received the desired gift, the child and the parents will receive happy moodlets.

If the gift is not the one chosen by the child, but it is a certificate, the child and parents will receive neutral moodlets. An action will appear on the certificate received to select the gift that will appear in the household inventory.

If the child has received another gift that is not a certificate, the child will be upset and the parents will be sad too.

After that, the child will no longer be able to ask for another present from Father Winter during this winter. The action will be available again when the next winter season starts.

If at the end of winter the parents still do not choose a gift for the child who sent a letter to Father Winter, the child will be upset and the parents will be embarrassed.

CHEATS

If something goes wrong in the process, or if you just want to change your gift (or even get another one!), there is an action on the mailbox to reset the mod. After a few seconds, the reset will complete and you can start the whole process over again.

LIMITATIONS

Keep in mind that all activities must be done on household lot.

Also, the child for whom the gift is chosen must be on the same lot at that moment - otherwise the interaction will be missed.

For the same reasons, parents and children must be in the same household.

Nothing can be done about it: that's how the game code works.
