i kind of have! i was an archival producer on the peacock documentary, "casey anthony: where the truth lies". we were fortunate enough to have casey's participation and while i won't get too deeply into it, she is clearly someone who has had a lot of therapy and worked on getting herself to a healthy place. it would be inappropriate for me to make contact with her after working on the production, but if i met her in the wild under other circumstances, i would absolutely be friendly with her. she's not a fire-breathing demon, truly. i'd rather be in a locked room with casey than with nancy grace ANY day of the week. there's a lot of stuff we unfortunately had to cut for time and for various legal reasons—true crime is a tricky needle to thread sometimes, and networks frequently err on the side of caution, which is understandable. but it WILL give you a look at the bigger picture if you can set aside your preconceived notions for at least a few hours. some of the stuff we uncovered was enough to change the mind of one of the witnesses against her at trial and you see his genuine reaction when that revelation hits him on camera during the interview. i want to be clear that i genuinely do not know what she knows about the death of her daughter and i don't think we will ever know the full story. i fall somewhere around "george did it, but casey knows way more than she'll ever say" but i don't demand that people change their minds if they still believe she's guilty. i just want people to approach the whole story with an open mind and pay attention to the things that weren't emphasized in the press because they distracted from society's decision that she was guilty before she even went to trial. so much nuance was lost in the name of making the story as salacious as possible. to me, she's an example of how women are demonized in the press simply for not behaving the way they're "supposed" to. if you watch it and you have any questions or want to chat about it some more, feel free to hit me up. i feel like i owe it to her (and caylee) to make sure i'm honest about the parts of the story that nobody talks about.

I just think if you look at the four of these topic options, one of them is extremely unlike the others. CA is an actual monster and if it’s young people on TikTok who aren’t understanding that then the girlies covering it won’t help with that IMO. I’d leave that coverage to someone like Becca Day who’d have more of an opportunity to reach people who need the education (not that many people will be willing to hear it). And IMO, CA and Gypsy Rose are very different. Not that I agree or support either of them in any way, I just think that there’s more to the Gypsy story than there is CA (including, but not limited to the fact that Gypsy served some sort of time for her crimes). CA is just a monster for the sake of being a monster & should be ignored by society as much as possible. The best thing we can do personally is just to try and remember Caylee & what a beautiful little girl she was. Caylee deserves to be remembered so her spirit can live on & CA deserves to rot in hell.

2025-03-04 23:44:24 +0000 UTCi'm pro telling the truth. i don't know what happened to caylee but i do know that the story is way more complicated than it is ever presented. this is not something that should be covered by a gossip podcast. regardless of whether you feel she's guilty or not, the way she is spoken about is viciously bad faith and parroting bullshit made up by the cops and amplified by the press who wanted a young woman to demonize. nobody bothers to actually read the court documents, watch the jail visitation videos, etc. the story as it was reported was too salacious for people to care what really happened. that dead child made nancy grace MILLIONS of dollars, but somehow she's some sort of righteous queen? nah man. just keep casey's name out of your mouth and move on. plenty of other women on the internet to hate, take your pick.

After what happened with Gypsy Rose and her ludicrous TikTok rise I think it’s really important to hear sensible people discuss properly why we shouldn’t turn true crime into car crash entertainment in this way. Hearing the girls talk about the whole carpet gate situation was another good example. This needs called out thoroughly. It isn’t about Casey taking up anyone’s energy. Casey can do what she likes. It’s encouraging people not to give her the time of day and discussing why even hate watching her is toxic. Pointing out how she manipulates the narrative. I know she killed her baby. You know she killed her baby. But if we leave Casey to it there will be millions of people who will believe her bullshit. Hearing from a mother (Jessi) why a woman who had ACTUALLY just lost her baby in horrific circumstances but wasn’t herself involved, wouldn’t create a f**king TikTok is important.
