When capturing landscapes, I avoid trying to replicate its grandeur and instead focus on the feeling or specific detail drawing me in. What about it fascinates me? How is it making me feel? And I try my best to capture that feeling. Whether that’s a quiet calmness, making me want to stop, sit and enjoy; an intense heat and a rumble in the earth that reaches me to the bone; a sharp, rugged and majestic looking mountaintop, transporting me into a fantasy film; a mountain range filling up my airplane window; or a convergence of planets, feeling simultaneously tranquil and electric - I find the right angle for that feeling. Oftentimes, I miss the mark, but sometimes - every now and then - the photo comes out and gives me a bit of that feeling again.
