There is definitely a time and place to call someone out on their defects/flaws, in this case Naomi's tardiness, especially at an event that's there to honor them. It seems unfair to judge Naomi for her tardiness given that Anna herself asked for the schedule to be switched around so she could attend the US Open. Naomi was probably on time for her ORIGINAL scheduled arrival and now she's being made out to be the bad guy. If Anna knows Naomi has a habit of always being late and would rather be at a tennis match than to be there as a presenter then don't take the gig.

Legal guilt is determined by “proof beyond a reasonable doubt” Not guilty verdicts just mean that they couldn’t prove all the pieces of a crime/ didnt follow procedure. Defense attorneys take cases all the time knowing that a crime has been committed and ppl often admit that during the representation. The motive is to force the legal system to put up or shut up or essentially keep it “honest.”

If the awards ceremony was 2 pm and Anna didn't have anything until 5:30 pm, and Anna waited until 4 pm and was told Naomi still wouldn't be there for an hour or more, then it was completely justified to call out Naomi. If the ceremony was at 2, Anna had something at 3, and by 2:15 Anna was over it then it was definitely on Anna for having a stacked schedule and not bowing out of one. IMO.

Not doing their best could be grounds for the guilty person to appeal their verdict. So even if a defense attorney believes their client may be guilty, they still have to do their job because if they don't it just drags the process out longer. And I think it is rarer than the wider public things for an attorney to truly know and believe their client is guilty, they aren't sitting there asking or being told by their clients.

If this was a modeling job, if Anna was paying Naomi to be there, she has every right to point out lateness. Yes lateness is rude & impactful. However, the job was to honor Naomi, the audience is there for a positive experience. It’s contrary to the spirit of the event for Anna to offer that piece of information. She didn’t say it in a funny way, she said it in a critical way. Monet is right, if Anna doesn’t like Naomi just say no to the gig. Naomi should’ve been shown more politeness at an event literally meant to HONOR her!! Regardless of whether Naomi is a bitch; regardless if she’s late; the presenter should still do their presenting job politely & appropriately. Or say no to the job.
