Blouse & Skirt

Reference garment: This random blouse.

Bodice and sleeve block based on Jungclaus “Blouse”. Quite a lot of modification by me because this Clo avatar has significantly smaller bust but wider hip. I omitted the waist darts. The shoulder-bust dart is later merged to open the side-bust dart (French dart).

Skirt based on Armstrong “gathered dindrl skirt” (p292).

Subscribers can watch the rest of the detailing raw footage here. Nothing special just the usual change of fabric, topstitches, puckering, buttons, etc.

Download link for basic block. The folder name is "Feifei - Jungclaus - Blouse 250312" for Clo and "Alexa - Jungclaus - Blouse 250312" for Style3D. I provided both block with and without waist dart.

#1. Just a rough estimation. Increase or decrease the value as needed.

#2. I said estimate not measure because often the best shoulder-line length for the pattern is not the actual shoulder length, but adjusted up to plus minus 1.5 cm. The actual shoulder length for this avatar is actually 13 cm when measured in attention pose, but from my trial and error, 12 cm shoulder-line will result in better armhole shape for this particular instruction and avatar. Some other avatars may not need adjustment.

#2. The bust dart amount is varied so you may try other amount. Generally, the larger the bust the bigger the value and vice versa. The original value given by the book is to open the dart by 8.5 cm for 90 cm bust. They have their own special ruler template in the book to determine the amount. 16.5° pivot will open the dart by 7 cm, which is reasonable because this avatar has smaller bust (80.64 cm).

#3. Because the hip of this avatar is so much wider than the bust, we need to flare out the hem and shape the sideseam.
