I live in Kuwait where a large portion of the retail and service population is Filipino and let me tell you these folks sing ALL OF THE TIME. At work, in public, on the retail floor - at the drive thru window - in the office you have to hear their rendition of whatever pop song is in their head. Filipino friends told me that it is something they do from childhood and that the kids are always performing for the adults. Being a pop star is THE dream in the Philippines. Even the way they speak has a sing song quality to it.
