Added 2024-07-10 13:17:09 +0000 UTCI just found out about this Clo3D competitor because I received a promotional email offering 6 months free individual license.
From my cursory research, this is a legit alternative especially to Marvelous Designer. Not so for Clo because it lacks support for real life garment production.
I plan to take a week later to explore the program. If it good enough, I'll make some drafting video using it. It has the same vibe as Clo so I think using it is very easy.
The main selling point for me is the price. It even has a free version. Individual license is currently $18 per months.
Competition is a good thing. I don't like to depend on any one company. They can change their price and cut access to their program anytime. I hope there's a Blender version of garment creation software that I can use for free and offline.
Anyway, they are just tools. My advice is don't spend too much time learning the tools because the tools always change but the fundamental of patternmaking remains.
