Sibling Watchery: RuPaul's Drag Race S15E11 "Two Queens, One Joke" Review

Also, this accent argument - Monet is wrong. Correcting HEWstun and HOWstun is correcting the pronunciation of a word. Like when Monet says "Cowabberate" - that's not your accent, you're just saying it wrong. But if someone corrects how you say "Air", "Bear", "hair", - THATS your accent. Mispronouncing a word isn't that same as saying it with an accent. My dad says "Winduh" instead of Window due to his northern michigan accent. But if he said "Wine-duh" that would be a Mispronounciation.

Just a joke. Cause Bob said they’re going to gain 20 lbs and be the first big girl winner. If it counts if you gain a bunch of weight after you win, then jinkx gets that title.

Mehgan Corker

Jinkx is a big girl?!?!?

Aimee

You gotta be big when you win. Otherwise, Jinx is the first big girl winner.

I hated when Michelle told Anetra jokes about the other queens wouldn’t be funny cause no one would get it. They make jokes about each other all the time when they do a comedy challenge.

Finally catching up on drag race! Bob saying tears don't look like that made me think of Luxe saying but why weren't you pregnant

I AM STRAIGHT, BUT IM A LESBIAN FOR DOJA CAT TOO

I'm convinced Bob and Monet get paid to say the word Houston LOL. Cause at this point chiiiiile this needs to be its own segment

TequilaTesh

not sure if bob is simply teasing/trolling about the accent stuff and maybe they are but it's been bugging me anytime bob does this because as a bilingual speaker, i had to learn to speak english "the american way" without an accent so that others can understand and unfortunately, i feel that americans aren't used to and/or don't like to hear others with an accent. like to constantly drag how someone says something is simply annoying/insensitive. we don't all speak the same way, due to our native tongue and/or speech impediments/hearing loss. just needed to say this cause it's been a few episodes now that bob will go on and on about the accent stuff and i'm over it. i'm still enjoying the content and both bob and monet. much love.

The amount of times I disagreed with Bob. Chillllle. From the pronunciations of names to how debilitating a migraine can be. I'm happy to hear more from Jacob! -i would require the medics have extra strength Excedrin for migraines on deck.

I think it's more about an accent regarding how someone says a name based on where they're from. If it's two Americans and one is mispronouncing a name then I can see someone correcting, but for example if it's a Spanish name like Isabella - an American may pronounce it like IZ-UH-Bell-UH and someone from Spain may pronounce it like Ee-SUH-Beh-La. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's where Bob was coming from. As an American I feel like it's cringy if I pronounce Isabella like a Spaniard would. Does that make sense?

I hear you, I think that most times when people say my name wrong I just simply tell them to call me by my nickname to make it easier, but if someone goes through the trouble of correcting you on pronunciation, its because it matters to them, and just the effort of trying to correct yourself is appreciated, but an attitude of "well that's just the way I talk" or "thats my accent" seems insensitive

Art Quintanilla

I understand both sides. I have a speech impediment and there have been times where someone will have me repeat their name over and over again until they feel like I’ve said it well enough. Every time it happens it’s in front of other people and I just get embarrassed because I just can’t do it. I have a simple name though so I personally don’t have to deal with mispronouncing it.

Sorry Bob but you're wrong about the name thing, if someone's name is pronounced a certain way, to pronounce their name wrong in my eyes can be disrespectful, correcting someone is just a way to advocate for yourself and it just takes practice to learn to pronounce something the right way.

Art Quintanilla

I heavily disagree with Bob on the accent debate when it comes to names. I have a southern accent, but I'll do my best to pronounce anyone's name the way it is supposed to be out of respect and I expect the same. My mama didn't name me something just for people to call me however they like, so if you're gonna say my name- say it right. (Excluding those whose first language isn't English)

buuuuut i'm living for jacob's producing here hahahaahh

I agree with bob, without a certain level of production it wouldn't be good TV. I don't really like "self-producing" the queens have done in the past years, as in working hard to be a certain way on TV or the trying hard for a persona type of thing... but it just reads fear of the audience response and takes away from the genuine interactions and creativity :< dunno if i'm just reading into it. watching recent seasons hasn't felt the same eh

thank you jacob for remembering that this is a review of dragrace and not of kombucha like fuuuccccckkkk

Migraines can be sooooo bad. I literally could not think the last time I had one, my head hurt, my whole body suddenly hurt like I had been slammed into a brick wall the previous day. It all cropped up over the course of like 30 minutes, and I was left feeling like shit for about 72 hours after. It all set in while I was on a bus to Chicago... All I wanted was darkness and to not be moving, but I could feel every move the bus made and not read the right half of anything. I don't know what Anetra's symptoms were like but I sympathize.

OMG, not the Columbus Ga representation, Buena Vista Rd! Where I fucking grew up! And yes, they say Byoonavista
