I wonder if the person who has so much trouble verbalizing “I love you” or “thank you” might have that mental barrier because either at some point or several times in their life, they’ve been made to feel extremely vulnerable in that situation and potentially if there was a bad or negative or cruel reaction to him saying that with genuineness and sincerity in return might have caused him to subconsciously perceive that as primarily an act of “emotional vulnerability” and/or “weakness” and therefore distorted the entire meaning or perception of that kind of interaction in his mind enough that it made it impossible for him to engage in offering those feelings/saying those things in the way that it is originally intended and the way that he expressed he wished he could and that he truly feels on the inside. 💕🤷🏻♀️
