Maps Monday - Garnet Mountains - Nightmare Woods
Added 2025-02-25 01:00:02 +0000 UTCA few months after the defeat of Mukbrog, the Hill Giant Chieftan things seem to be going well for Spar. That is until the attacks commence again... who else would they turn to but their allies who defeated the Hill Giants in the first place! This time however, they are not hiding in their camp-- the Dwarves have tracked them towards an ancient Dwarven city known as Garnet Thax. Long since abandoned by the Dwarves, it appears the Hill Giants and their allies may have begun to set themselves up in the ruins of the city. The strangest thing however... within a mile of Garnet Thax the bright sunshine is muted, midday, as an ever present full moon looms in a eerily created perennial nightscape.
Things only get more terrifying from there-- crows begin to perch on the trees. Just one or two at first, but it's not long before there's a murder following you. Cawing and squaking, flapping as they go, even if attacked they only retreat for a few minutes before returning in greater numbers. What's this? A broken down cart with a chest? What wonderful items might be inside... rubbish! Just a mirror, a doll, a broken jewelry and a compass that never points North... "mama..." What in the-- did the doll just. Wherever you move the doll you suddenly realize its head twists, eyes always locked on you. Suddenly the music box begins to play a creepy tune as the doll starts to hum. You throw it away-- it reappears in your hand. Destroy it! A minute later it's back-- "mama!" Looking into the mirror it doesn't reflect you, no, it reflects a different creature altogether! You're human? Looks like a Tiefling! Dwarf? Becomes an Orc. These things can't be destroyed-- they constantly reappear in the hands of the last person to touch them! Just-- just what have you entered?!
