Lady Camden’s ballet was a Center Stage reference. It also has a lot of the same fence moves which was very impressive to see in heels. And I know there has been some talk about how she had flexed feet/not pointed toes but a plot point in Center Stage was how the main actress frequently forgot to point her toes and was told she wouldn’t make it in dance. As a former dancer and a fan of Center Stage, I think Lady Camden did a great job!

Alright I haven’t seen Center Stage so maybe I’m missing an element here but as someone who had been in ballet classes my whole life (not that I’m any good, I’m just a theatre kid/major) Lady Camden’s number was cringy for one specific reason: you can’t point your toes in heels. Pointing your toes comes before basically everything in ballet. Like if you’re gonna only do one thing right, make it be pointed toes. They have dance heels, such as LaDucas, for this specific reason. So seeing her do a ballet routine with a flexed foot the entire time made my stomach turn. Again, I think she’s quite a lovely person and I enjoy her, but I just wish she had thought about that part….
