why is this video so blurry?

I'm from Charleston and I've always been lucky enough to live near a library. Growing up it's the only place we could afford to rent movies from (which you can still do so get into it if you're super broke rent a movie and a book). I bought a duplex around the corner from a library in Charleston and my favorite librarian who would let me print insurance and tax paperwork for free ended up leaving us too soon when Dylan Roof went to the AME Church and took her and many other important people in our community's lives... Cynthia Graham. It still makes me cry to this day. Ms. Cynthia really was someone who knew how much difference the library made for people in the community and I just wanted to leave a comment because I don't want her to be forgotten. She made an impact on me. Cynthia Graham. Remember her name. Edit: sorry if I'm real corny but I just wanna say she fully saw me dressed to work at the club (I've always worked nightlife...it's where the money is if you didn't go to college) coming in there to return books and DVDs when I still couldn't afford internet when I was trying to set myself up for success. Forever in debt to that help.

Also I’m in urban planning and libraries are huge resource but my two cents…Bob has a point even if they didn’t say it tooooootally clearly… It’s about limited space and getting value for the greater good. There are a lot of urban libraries that already are moving their physical book collections to off site/ storage locations to make more room within the building itself for community events, training workshops, computer labs, etc That’s why you often have to request a physical library book a day before you can pick it up. And I’m sure others have said this but libby is a great resource to take out digital library books!

Restructure libraries? Books are taking up too much space? Love you Bob, but seriously? Plenty of useless buildings that can be repurposed — i.e. gentrified housing for the wildly over privileged. Libraries are not a problem.

Lmaooooo BOBBBB Libraries are a VITAL public service!! Yes there's books, you can also check out audio books, magazines, even movies/discs. You can get tax forms, you can get help with technology. I have a friend who works at the library who has computer literacy class for people who don't have access to computers normally. There's events for the community, there's all kinds of things!

ok I am came back to finish after turning it off lol. A lot of libraries in universities actually are moving books to storage to free up space for other services, BOB. But not all books can be owned digitally for lending and e-books aren’t accessible to the whole community. Libraries also preserve a lot of old and rare books which might never be digitized and there are many library collections dedicated to things like zines and cultural ephemera outside of the mainstream publishing industry. Librarians also often prune collections in order to most efficiently use space.

The giver is a 4 book series. The Giver, Gathering Blue, Messenger, and Son. I've read them all so many times in the last 18 months because they are the only PDF books I had on my work computer.

I usually don't have issues with audio books but most of my issues come from people who know they have reading issues (not disabilities or 2nd language, rather just need to practice stamina) but are too lazy to pick up a book and read it. Now normally that is their issue and not mine but I really do want to rip my ears out when people are asked to read out loud some times.

You can by casting it with YouTube, the video is on YouTube, usually with my phone i click play on Chrome, then i click on the title on the video, and it open it on the YouTube app, and then i cast it on my tv, what you can also do, is just have the same YouTube account on both chrome (or whatever browser you use) and the same YouTube account on your tv, and then watch the video for a couple of second on your browser, and then you should find it in your YouTube watched video history

Bob being anti library is going on my list of things she’s been so wrong about I had to pause the podcast lmao. please… btw one issue with libraries and ebook lending is that even though it’s ebooks, the publishers put restrictions on how many times they can be lent out and require the licenses to be repurchased. Paper books have to be repurchased as they wear out but I think not to the same degree? Anyway libraries are good and I guarantee you most librarians agree that books are books whether they’re paper or data or audio. and candyman has always been 5 times, go look it up in a library!!!

Not to be that person but, libraries are great community resources! Libraries are one of the few places left in the country that you can enter and stay all day *FOR FREE*. Can’t even stand outside without harassment (loitering is illegal which is ridiculous). Also, libraries have ebooks and audio books, if you have the Overdrive or Libby app you can sign in with your library card and get them straight to your device. Also, tons of resources for kids and our elders. The Brooklyn library main branch has recording studios for folks without funds. The New York library (different one) has a program that loans interview clothes for folks trying to get work. I have multiple library cards so I can read my comics and books and watch movies, some places even have music and magazines. Reading is fundamental and I think we could all find something cool at our libraries. And they have digital resources too, like digital archives so you can get historical receipts. Anyways, I wish our libraries were funded like our military 🌚… anywho, I hope y’all enjoy reading, paper, digital, audio, Braille, whatever!

The coldest winter ever

Hello! So... There's actually at least one library in LA that is using an iPad/tablet system at least in part, and I know because I've been there many times and used aforementioned iPads: it's the WGA script library located at 3rd and Fairfax. None of the materials can be checked out overnight or leave the library in any capacity and are for use only while there. They do have books and old scripts in hard copy, but the VAST MAJORITY of all contemporary scripts in their catalog are available digitally on tablets. Their catalog is actually available online, so you can check to see whether they have the script you want to read before going, *and* if the script you want to read isn't available you can make a request through the library.
