I disagree about drag race being about who can run the fastest. I think it’s much more of a storyline show and reality show than when it was in season 8. I believe it's more that we live a hell of a lot longer now and so more things can go wrong, our cells will mutate more and become cancerous as we live longer. Life expectancies are much longer and so we will see more illness. My mom is from MS and they didn't integrate schools until the 70s (literally the LAST year the federal government required them to integrate). She graduated from high school in the early 80s and there was def a white/black class president....white/black prom queen....and kings....etc.... To this day, most of the class reunions are segregated (her graduating class is literally the only one that has integrated reunions). Their town itself is pretty segregated. I met white people from my mom's hometown when I went to college and I literally used to go live there w/ my grandparents for an ENTIRE summer and never saw a white person in/from that town as a child.

I’m from MS (Jackson to be exact)! I think it was 2011/12 to be exact. We were in class when it was announced on the intercom 😅🤦🏾‍♀️ Thankfully, the confederate symbol was removed from the state flag. When it was first removed on Southern Miss’s campus in 2016/17 (my alma mater), those yt conservatives protested our campus everyday till I graduated. Now that I think about it, even our license plates are racist. If you’re Black and seen driving a Hinds (mostly black area) license plate in Rankin County (very white area), you will be harassed by the cops or at the least stopped. They have the counties on the plates so it’s easier to identify “outsiders.” Chile it’s a mess 🤦🏾‍♀️

On the cancer thing like you said people are living much longer than they used to because of better quality of life and modern medicine. These days most infectious diseases and injuries can be addressed pretty well but your body naturally breaks down over time and becomes more prone to tumors that can become cancerous. Also it gets harder to treat cancers the older you get because chemo makes you so weak. BUT childhood cancers have an amazing survival rate so that's a good thing (sorry I'm a public health scientist lmao)
