It's a vice series, but it's on youtube now, and it highlights ballroom culture in and out of the ballroom... really great stories, and just a phenomenal show all around.

When she walked out to hear who was superior house and she was still in character I died 😂 but I don’t know if I’m just bias toward Jamil but I really think he won that battle. He was soft with his dips and fucking shady and told a performance to me, but yeah them being in the bottom for the 3rd time was the end of it. Also I suggest everyone to listen to the after show podcast “The Let Out.” They have some of the eliminated house members on there each week and you get to know some behind the scenes stuff and more info about ballroom culture and them as people.

I’m sorry, but I’m going with Mo on this one. Getting a ten means you checked off all the boxes “you did what needed to be done”. For example if you get a home run, it doesn’t matter how far the ball goes, just that you hit it out of the park. Also, I think It’s not a true comparison because then the judges would wait until everyone participates then scores the teams against each other. I feel like that’s more of a ranking category system. I was upset that Law didn't get Pop Art from Balenciaga. Like Yayoi Kusama is 100% Pop Art. As an art educator it frustrates me to no end when the women of Pop Art are just left out. I agree that you can’t compare scores across teams. Tisci was an A+ and Oricci was an A (maybe minus), but they’re both still As (10s in this analogy). The problem is letting the guest judge be the tiebreaker. I think if they brought it down to those two houses and had any judge decide between them Tisci would’ve been on top no question.

Yep keith haring is considered a pop artist, he's just a bit different than how most people think of pop art, as in campbell-soup-type direct popular references like warhol did. His references are a bit more indirect/abstract but still uses the same kitschy imagery, bright colors etc

On the judging on a curve - how do you know how to judge the first house of the night on a curve if you don't know what the other houses are going to do? It would be different if they saw all performances and then gave out scores at the end - then they could score on a curve

Monet is right they have to be judged on their performance , based on the assignments and not against other teams. It keeps it fair, and they do have battles for comparison judgments. As Gia would say, there’s room for everybody 🤲🏼.

So glad they talked about the garbage camera angles during the battles. I thought I was the only one that was frustrated by it. I think it's either in episode 1 or 2 of season 2 that the camera is literally stuck behind a pillar for a couple of seconds. Also, we don't need close ups on their faces during the battle. Put the camera at the end of the runway with a wide angle lens(?) and leave it alone. The battle itself will do the work, not the camera spinning around the runway. This didn't feel like a problem in Season 1.

Disagree with Monet on not comparing houses for scoring… to use the RPDR example, checking all the boxes keeps you safe, but the winner is usually selected by how superior their look/performance is to the other tops… I don’t like the way legendary is scoring tbh.. if they tied 3 houses, then they should have to re-score or vote on #1 out of the three.. decide who wa the best of the best…

Mother Shannon did a great interview on WRU radio in Atlanta and she said her house son actually suffers from anxiety, something she wasn’t clear on either, hence his panic attack during judging. Shannon said she was actually thankful Taraji caught onto the trigger in him and knew what to say and do. Also for body she was not feeling the design by Wujek and so had her children paint her body in the nude and she put on one of her prized sheer ballroom pieces to pull a stunt by all definitions of the word. Especially after the judges said she needs to showcase herself more, so she did! Shannon said she really cut the fuck up and what we saw was edited to death. Maybe that explains even Megan getting bashful. Miss Sophia of WRU radio and Valerie Vision, a face legend, both have great interviews with Legendary contestants. I'm not the MOST knowledgeable about ballroom history but I've been going to balls and walking since 2017 and personally I've never witnessed the kind of thing that Bob is talking about with body. Body is all about confidence! He made it out to sound like Legendary put some progressive twist on it for TV but at least since I've been going the thick 'n juicy girls sweep the category just as much as the people going to the gym everyday.

Black women are constantly being criticized for wearing weaves and wigs. Black men love to say we hate ourselves and wanna be white women and don't love our hair, that we've damaged our hair with perms and so we don't have hair of our own, etc. (which may be true for some, but its definitely not the majority of us) So I think that's why there is emphasis on black women letting the masses know that they do have real hair and they don't wear wigs b/c they HAVE to.

This show isn't replacing the podcast its just another show they do on here for all of us fans to keep the content coming because an overwhelming majority enjoy watching them review shows and stuff. Some of the comments can be misleading because some patrons think just because they have to wait an extra week or two its the end of the world lol they've always done breaks and this is nothing compared to the first season. People also forget they are back to working now and have their own lives. Dont worry rivalry isn't dead lol they're just on break.
