Law acts like he's intentionally trying to be rude and mean. I understand being shady but at least have respect for the performers as they worked hard. I hated him in the first season and I still hate him. Also is commentary is wishy washy. As you all said, if he scores are based on whatever he feels at the moment and not the performance.

It is freaking me out that Monet's earpieces look like hair so he looks like a dude with male pattern baldness and just hair in the back and not on top. I could't stop seeing it. Anyway I am so glad you guys are reviewing this because it made me binge season one and I loved it so much. Season 2 is already off to a crazy start. Can't wait!

yeah this episode made me cry. The grief of losing your mom is unexplainable unless you’ve experienced it. especially being in your early early 20s and your mom dying suddenly mine and theirs did.. it’s a very hard thing. old enough to have complex and intense feelings and memories but still too young to have a family of your own to lean on. Anyways when Meg choked up I started bawling bc i felt everything she said. So much respect to that guy for not having an absolute breakdown the entire time jesus christ

i am OBSESSED with the house of balenciaga! YES monet the fall didn't matter, unequivocally a 10. the fluidity with which they adapted, the artistry, the family!! obsessed w shannon and jupiter. honey's instagram??? her dancing??? literally phenomenal, could watch all day. felt exactly the same as bob on becky from the moment of their intro - that short little clip of them voguing in the flip skirt, i was mesmerised*. in the battle i was also surprised by what leiomy said about them performing on the same level initially but i reassessed after taking what she said in and i definitely see that becky was doing way more gymnastics than voguing, while angel was actually giving elements (even tho it was less eye catching on camera). LAW's reaction to the battle tho, i felt was totally out of order - he was like i didnt see anything special/the fire from either of u!? kind of redoing the fell asleep bit? honestly shocked me that he could say that to becky who was so visibly raw at that moment and i was genuinely grateful that jameela was there to follow up and disagree. also - shoutout to whoever is editing these!!! i'm so grateful for the visuals and pronoun labels and that. ik it's a real pain to get around licensing stuff while still getting enough reference material in to keep the video from derailing into abstraction from the viewer end. i follow a couple of other folk who discuss and i always end up splitting my screen w the program on mute so i know what they're talking about. thank you! loads of thots but let me move on to the next vid. gravity balmain was also my crush of s1. *fun fact: "mesmerise" is derived from the name of Dr Franz Mesmer, who in formally developing an early form of hypnosis coined the concept after himself! i always thought of the word as super onomatopoeic so finding out this doc was branding really tickled me

See this isn’t the type of death drop majorette performers do here in the South. The ONLY person who has done a death drop (like the one they do in MS) on drag race is Kennedy Davenport. You can see it on season 3 of All Stars Eps 1 during her performance. It’s actually when you fall back on your hands, holding up your legs in a v-shaped split while landing on your back. My sister auditioned for Dancing Dolls (team on the show “Bring It” in Mississippi—home of bucking) and she had to do the move. It’s a very difficult dance move much more so than shablams (talking about the one where they drop back “dead” in a side split) —my sister actually got a concussion performing the “majorette” death drop (she ended up making the team but couldn’t join because of the injury). I see that in ballroom or even Drag Race shablams are also referred to as death drops (which makes sense because you are dropping dead lol), but is completely different from majorette performance. Black majorette performers are very much inspired by (black) ballroom culture and (southern) ballroom culture loves including majorette moves into their performances, so maybe that’s why.

Legendary Leiomy gives the constructive criticism they need. Megan and Jameela also give good critiques, but they also give the performers some much needed emotional support and are very fair. Law brings the drama. I don't agree with all his scores and critiques but it's very entertaining.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Law's judging is annoying. Sometimes it feels like he just enjoys being a contrarian and being the "Simon Cowell" of the judging panel. It just feels like as long as he likes your outfits he will give u a decent score, and he hardly gives specific critique about anything aside from the fashion.
