I do agree you shouldn’t dramatically change a child’s diet but slowly trying to change their cravings can be beneficial. Candy sounds like a drug the way you explain it. So maybe think about should candy be something we give kids in the first place.

Nooo please don't restrict your kids diet. Not allowing them to have candy at all won't make them not want candy, it'll make them binge it whenever they can sneak it behind your back and crave it even more. The best thing you can do is let them have it, but have lots of conversations with them about how good they feel when they eat their vegetables and healthy things. Everything in moderation, teach a healthy relationship with food, not restriction.

Monét, in regards to your future kids diets, around age 8 my mom went on a big health and weight loss journey and I had NO junk food in the house/no fast food. I still was allowed to eat them but they weren't in the house. As a result I don't have chips/soda/candy anywhere in my house bc I don't crave them as an adult. So it can have a positive effect. Also as the parent you can say no, even if your child wants candy daily you can say no lmfao. Just work with their doctor and a nutritionist and they'll be okay.

Regarding Todrick, I remember all of my peeps hyping him when he FINALLY replaced Santino as a main judge on RDR, and everyone loved him, at least on S9 and 10. I never heard any hatred in his early airing on the show, but maybe I just wasn’t too involved in the scene back then. It felt as if he was the first judge in a veeery long time to truly and acutely understand queer culture, drag culture, fashion culture, production value, political advocacy, artistic lens, all of it at the same time. I will say, though - here in Australia and as a musical theatre nerd - Todrick Hall was hyped as a judge until he was called out for not paying his backup performers right in late 2019; after that, all of my dancer friends pretty much boycotted Todrick, especially because he never really addressed it: he mentioned love and ‘inner circles’ then swept it under the rug. I tried to show ‘Straight Outta Oz’ to my best friend but he didn’t want to support Todrick because of the claims. It’d be cool to hear you guys close that case in your own way at some point. Love you guys, keep us slain. 💕

Monet, before I had a kid I was that same about junk food - I was just never going to make it available. BUT, then you raise a kid in the real world. Halloween, Christmas, GRANDPARENTS happen. And kids see and WANT candy! I think rather than denying kids something they see and want, it's important to teach kids boundaries and self-control around treats. Yes, you can get a pillowcase full of candy on Halloween - but that doesn't mean you get to eat it all that night, or within a week! Access to treats like that is a learning opportunity that will serve kids well in the future when they have a healthy relationship with food (no food is TERRIBLE or OFF LIMITS), when they develop self-control and limiting rewards. Parents help them learn that!

I was sad to hear Jeffrey isn't going to be judging season 2. Sure, he had some awkward moments, but that's partly what makes the show fun. I wish he got the opportunity to grow/vibe, rather than get bullied off the show.

And I am also on that train. Bob had a winner/protagonist/too talented to fail edit on season 8 from the beginning. Definitely not a villain, definitely one of Ru’s favorites. Her scenes which were negative were just part of her arc about being confident and knowing herself, even arguing with Lucien. I don’t think season 8 had a real villain except slightly Acid Betty.

I think the first American reality TV show was 'An American Family' on PBS, it was released in 1973. If you're not familiar with it, there's a documentary online 'Lance Loud! . An American Family'. The stars of the show were the mom Pat and her flamboyant gay son Lance. Fun fact - Lance Loud was the first openly gay man to appear on US television :)
