I'm a nurse (formerly women's health) and I'm so amused by the kegel discussion. There are no kegel muscles but everyone can do kegel exercises and benefit from them :) They strengthen pelvic floor muscles and Bob is right in that it's basically the clenching one does when stopping a pee stream. Don't do it when you're urinating, though, because it can cause UTIs.

Ok I’m only like 5 mins in but just needed to pop in and say that I’m 90% sure that anyone can do a “kegel” in theory bc regardless if you have a vajeen or dinkle ..... you have a pelvis, so u have pelvic muscles that you can flex and strengthen (bc that’s what kegels are supposed to do) BUTTT I have to imagine it feels different depending. I have a vag and can only speak from personal experience but when I do keegles it is v obvious to me that I’m flexing my vag muscles (as opposed to my butthole or urinary tract like bob said 😂💀)

Whilst he was a Gynecologist and developed the exercise originally for women following child birth there have been a lot of studies showing the exercises can be beneficial for many in different ways.

Kegels are a type of exercise that support the pelvic floor muscles, which are kinda like a sling that run from the genitals to the tailbone. These are the muscles that support your organs and allow you to stop peeing mid-stream. They also contract during orgasm. Everybody's got em. Your ass being tight has more to do with your anal sphincter. So by doing Kegels, you aren't going to do a ton for tightening your hole, unless you maybe have incontinence issues.

As someone said already, kegels have to do with your pelvic floor. Anyone can do them.
