I think the reason there wasn’t a guest judge on this episode is because it was just lip syncs. I think since it was such like a ✨premier✨ episode that they just wanted to do the six lip syncs with the main judges since there wouldn’t be much for a guest judge to judge on

No offense, but I’m confused with why she gives you Silky vibes. Is it because she’s a big girl? Yikes. White skinny queens are often never compared to others, but plus size queens and POCs are compared, and it’s really disrespectful. I feel like it’s really unfair to compare queens. Perhaps it’s your way of contextualizing drag queens, but doing so completely invalidates them. Please treat them as individuals.

hey ya’ll, thank you so much for the episode! i had one small critique, nothing major, but i watch your content on a large TV and i find the video transitions a strain on the eyes a bit just because of the shock of color that comes into the screen. i love the color palette itself and the rest of the video’s graphic editing works great but I find the length of the transitions and the shock of red to blue to be a bit painful to see. it won’t stop me from watching or subscribing but I wondered if i was the only one who was experiencing this

I loved when you talked about the difference between the "real love" (supporting anything the queen puts effort into, watching their youtube, buying merch etc.) vs. performative internet love from fans towards queens.

I agree. These performances were even harder than a lip sync for your life because, when queens are in the bottom, they get time backstage, during the judges' deliberation, to stretch and make some mental choices about how they're going to perform the song. This was fully a surprise improvisational performance challenge. That's tough.

I do agree about the mainstream audience not going for older queens. The straight white female audience + younger generation has kind of led drag race into “drag should be pretty and i should want to look as pretty as them!!!!” and instagram culture has affected that too.

Also with the older vs younger queens thing it’s not really the age it’s the aesthetics that makes the big difference. I LOOVVE tamisha for her personality and am able to enjoy her more fully because her makeup and the majority of what I’ve seen from her looks are all there. Tina however, her makeup is not it and the looks never kill it for me so my mind just doesn’t let me enjoy her as much despite her being hilarious.
