Rewatching episodes and I have now seen Midsommer. Bob you nailed your synopsis.

Bob's makeup looks really really nice in this one. I find it really hard to do that type of eye with any precision.

i’m deadddd trick o treating isn’t dead!! i used to go door to door like bob in worcester, AND to stores like tedeschis and ask for candy bc they’d often times have a bowl where you could pick one it’s more of a commercial corner store tho so maybe that’s why, but this was all only 7 -10 years ago max so i don’t think the tradition has died out completely! but there has been less bc the past few years like corona now, and winter storms in the past has cancelled halloween, it’s much less of a concrete thing but people def still go

When I was a kid in New Orleans, I used to get Halloween and Mardi Gras mixed up. Both you wore costumes, but one was candy and the other was drunk adults.

Just listened to the race chaser halloween pre-show and alaska asks nick what his favorite scary movie is... and it's the strangers. Beginning to think that movie has some kind of great marketing strategy years after its release.

2020-11-01 19:55:12 +0000 UTC
Can Bob & Monet have a crossover discussion with Trixie & Katya? I’ve watched two different conversations that mentioned The Strangers this week.
2020-10-31 18:40:58 +0000 UTC
I think she means trick or treating which began in the 1930s in America.

The celebration of Christmas started in Rome. In polytheistic Rome, December 25 was a celebration of the Unconquered Sun, marking the return of longer days. Many Christmas traditions, such as decorating trees, started in Germany and later spread to other parts of the world, notably England and the United States.

I’m in MN and kids still trick or treat. I have worked at Walmart and dollar general and we always had candy, at the registers, to give during Halloween. Maybe it’s a small town thing

Monet i love you gal but NO Halloween is NOT American......It's a pagan holiday from pre Christianity celebrated in engalnd/scotland/ireland/wales etc

I think he meant more like how likely it was to happen to him specifically. It's brutal but statistically unlikely to happen to most of us. It's such a weird coincidence that Trixie and Katya uploaded their Halloween episode this week too and bring up the exact same movie as being scary and "too real". The Strangers didn't scare me, but America's Most Wanted had an episode about a rapist on the loose who would break into homes at night.. that scared the fuck out of me when I was like 5 or 6.

I think Monet was trying to use the term prevalent. Pervasive can have the same meaning but it’s used in a different context usually
2020-10-29 18:58:28 +0000 UTC
Y’all should watch Hereditary directed by the same person who directed Midsommar (Ari Aster)

I love you two sooooosososo much. Monet hit the nail on the head with “prominent.” Bobiana looks decadent (Merriam -Webster definition ~siNcE u KnOw eVeRyThInG~~SiNcE U gOt yOUr DegReE~) Also so much touching!!!!!!! We love it
2020-10-29 06:47:09 +0000 UTC
It's funny hearing Bob talk about how he doesn't like The Strangers caz of the lack of motivation/how unrealistic it is- yet it's based on the real murder of Sharon Tate by The Manson cult. In which the murder was just as brutal and the motive was basically just the address of the house.
2020-10-29 04:33:05 +0000 UTC
I go trick r treating every year and I'm 39yo; and I go with my 36yo cousin for FREE CANDY! Mariah Carey has one of THE MOST beautiful ballads. Very gospel-y inspired called FLY LIKE A BIRD.
Oooooook I wrote this before they said it so I don't know what to put here.....MINDTRIP 🤔🤔
2020-10-29 02:42:24 +0000 UTC
Monet is right about pervasive. Kids still trick or treat in atlanta, but they all drive to a few specific neighborhoods and the parents follow the kids in cars. It's weird.
2020-10-29 02:28:55 +0000 UTC
I think Monet used pervasive correctly

2020-10-28 17:32:22 +0000 UTC
Halloween's roots are based in Celtic religion. Christians stole ALLLLL the holidays like Bob said. When they weren't the prominent religion, they would hide their religion within the pagan holidays (which typically center around the harvest).
Christians took over the pagan holidays once they became the prominent religion...like how Roman gods are basically all the Greek gods but with different names LMAO.

You only knock on the door if the porch light is on!

2020-10-28 17:09:26 +0000 UTC
Monet’s making up facts again! Halloween is widely credited with having originated with the Celts in Ireland. It evolved from the Pagen festival of Samhain (pronounced Sow-in). The Irish brought the festival to America during the Irish famine.

As a fellow Brit/Celt (O'Sullivan-Beare Clan) your 100% right! The Irish took it over to America in the 19th century 🤓
2020-10-28 16:44:41 +0000 UTC
Love you guys but as a Brit I have to claim Halloween as ours... it was the eve of all hallows celebrated for over 2000 years on these Isles!
