This! I watch my faves mostly for their energy, wit, wisdom and beauty. I treasure some of them for the application techniques they teach, but very few of those have a similar skin tone to me. If I want specific info on whether a particular product will be a match for my skin tone, I'll search for a demo on fair yellow/olive skin and watch a bunch of those regardless of whether I know the creators or not. Otherwise, I stick with the creators with whom I vibe best.

As far as makeup guru's go... Im white and im pretty pale and I watch Jackie Aina for hours at a time. Im watching her because she's fucking hilarious, but also because she's great at complexion makeup and I don't need her foundation to match mine in order to be able to learn great techniques from her. I've learned more about undertones and color correcting from Jackie Aina than I have from ANY YouTuber. I also watch Nyma Tang and she is very dark skinned. Again, you don't have to look like me in order for me to learn from you. SO, I'm not trying to invalidate your point that most people watch beauty gurus that look like them, I AM trying to say that being white is no excuse to NOT watch Jackie and Nyma. You don't get to sit back and go "I don't watch black beauty gurus because I'm white" because thats stupid.

trigger warning i was in the same music scene as jeffree in the early 2010's and girl he is 100x worse than shane dawson (and i know all that shane has done) like i can not even properly explain the level of evil jeffree was back then. i remember him kicking a little girl, he refused to take pictures with black people, he was best friends with a notorious pedophile in the scene (hundreds of victims, as young as 9) and shared a room with him so obviously he knew. he helped make a revenge porn site, and blackmailed soo many musicians. he would do crack (or meth i forgot) and then threaten people with a butcher knife. he is just good at hiding this shit. google any of it and trust you will find with some digging. i really dont understand how he went on to have a career

Tati actually made a lot of money off the drama. People have made videos estimating that if only 1% of the people who initially subscribed and upvoted her video bought her vitamins, she made at least 20million in sales. And that's a conservative estimate. For some time there everyone was on her side and supporting her, She gained millions and millions of subscribers from it and got tons of publicity for her vitamins which she talked about in the video. She even brought up her vitamins in her recent apology video.
