Update on visual audiobook stuffs
Added 2021-06-29 13:58:18 +0000 UTCFinally got the music license approved for the intro/outro of the Tamer stuff.
Backstory: I found the guy's music last year, bought the rights to the song directly from him (I feel like it's a perfect fit), and then proceeded to get all the art done for the intro and chapter 1. When I published the first videos, YouTube immediately told me I was violating copyright because another company owned them.
I messaged the artist like "WTF?" and he replied back, "Oh, just appeal it. I have a company that audits them for me."
Then I appealed it, and the company was like "no, fuck off. You don't own it."
Then YouTube told me I could appeal this decision, but if the company came back and said I still didn't own the rights, then my account would get banned.
So it's been a few weeks of my lawyer, the artist, and I trying to get a hold of his watchdog company, who didn't answer any emails. We finally risked just appealing to YouTube and showing our proof of license, and this company finally said we were allowed to make videos with the music I owned the rights to. For a while there, we were worried my YouTube might get shut down, or I'd have to find new music and re-do all the videos.
For Book 2, I'm going to do a different intro sequence and get different music, so if you can think of an indie musician with a sweaty primal beat to his/her stuff, let me know.
Also, don't forget to share the videos with everyone you know!
