Bonus #236 - Streaming Services Lose to... Tubi? (Extra Dose)

VIDEO LINK: https://youtu.be/Nk7sPKCS2WQ

Hey everyone, it's Bonus Dose Day, and today's video is almost a continuation of last week's exclusive, the one about live shows struggling to sell tickets. Turns out, people don't want to spend money IN their homes either! And so, this is a look at a streaming service that's beating nearly all of the others, for the simplest reason ever: it's FREE. Enjoy!

Every other week, it seems one of the streaming services is reporting to its shareholders that it's lost subscribers, or revenue, or both (that's generally how it would work!). Meanwhile, on social media, everyone's complaining about how expensive everything's got. But ONE streaming service is dominating the others... and it's FREE! Buckley looks at how Tubi, an ad-supported provider of entertainment, is beating big players like Disney and MAX, and the dystopian reasons why a free service will always exist?

The only complaint I have with Tubi is where in a TV show they choose to put the ads. TV shows were made (well, TV shows made for broadcast networks anyway) with commercial breaks built in, but Tubi sometimes decides to air an ad in the middle of a scene. If they'd stop pulling that crap, I'd be 100% satisfied. I still prefer watching a few short ads on a service I'm not paying for than watching them on one I am though (coughcough Peacock).

In the US, Tubi has most episodes of Classic Doctor Who on demand including animated recreations of the lost stories. I created an account just for that, but the library they have is keeping me around.

Nah bro, how much did Tubi pay you to do this? Now I want to start using it 😂😂😂
