Hey everyone, it's Bonus Dose Day, and this one may not be particularly relatable (few videos involving celebrity problems are) but maybe on some smaller scale... for example, have you ever had a friend or family member borrow money from you, or have you ever borrowed money from a friend or family member? If so, were any restrictions put on exactly what that money could be spent on? And was there any lasting friction in your relationship over it? This is a pretty common issue, right? NOW... imagine if instead of money, you borrowed... one of their vital organs?! Well, that's what happened with Selena Gomez and her friend Francia Raisa, as you're about to see in this video. Enjoy!
In 2017, Selena Gomez received a kidney transplant from the person she considers her "best friend", an actress by the name of Francia Raisa. Since then, there's been a little friction in the friendship. Buckley wonders if a kidney donor should have any say in how their organs are used once they've been given away, or if it's finders keepers, donors weepers?
While I beleive Selena has the same right to drink and do whatever she wants with her life I know I'd probably feel pretty shit if I donated a kidney to a friend just to see them not even make an effort to try and stay healthy

Late to the comments for this one lol.
We don’t know to what extent she drinks/parties. If it’s only a few here and there I’d say let her live her life. However she could be denied in the future for organ transplants if her drinking gets out of control. She’d need another friend to donate to her or get something off the black market lol. By then she probably won’t have anybody willing to donate after seeing how she treated her first donated kidney.

Two times in my life I have given money to people who claimed to be low on food where one then went to a store and bought beer and cigarettes, the other bought 60$ games they gave to their friends to have some fun together.
The first person was a stranger at a train station, the second was a friend, emphasis on was, because I told them to not beg money under false pretext.
They did the “it is my money, I have a right to have fun!” I pointed to several games costing $5 that would be equally fun to play with friends, especially when struggling to get food.
So I stopped being friends with them and I have not given them money for food ever since.
I assume the same thing will happen here:
She got the first kidney, but the queue to give her a 2nd or 3rd one will be much shorter.
Maybe organ donations evolve to get EULAs just like every website and online store.
But at least then the terms and conditions will be known up front.
The 2010 movie Repo men, may have shown us the future we are heading towards.

IMO- while ultimately the donor can’t control what is done by the receiver, it is a huge sign of disrespect to them if the receiver goes out and start doing things that needlessly risk that gift. It’s a slap in the face of someone who have your part of their body because they wanted you to be healthy and live.

the girl who donated has no moral right to bitch how her kidney is used. She donated/sacrificed a kidney to save a friend- it is a good deed, she did it, deal's done.
Selena being irresponsible with it and disrespectful to her friend's gift- that's on Selena.
It would be an adult and mature thing to say "I donated my kidney to my friend, how she uses it is no longer my concern, I'm happy she's alive". But it turns out both are worth one another.

I feel like Francia would be less upset if Selena was a better friend to her - maybe this is less about the kidney and more about Selena being a bad friend
