Hey everyone, before we get to today's Bonus Dose, a reminder that I posted a brand new Q&A thread, which you can find here. I'll start answering questions later this week. ALSO, if you haven't been to my Discord, consider linking your account via Patreon, and then go check out my Announcements section for a little... surprise. Anyway, on with today's Extra Dose, it's fun AND educational. Enjoy!
Buckley looks at the story of Jessica Massie, an OnlyFans girl who woke up one day to find she had $0 in her account, because she had over-extended herself on buying a house, and the government came lookin' for money she owed them. Is this the first of many stories we're going to hear about content creators of all types going from rags to riches right back to rags? Plus, a fun twist to this story (try and guess what it is based on the title!) and some tips that are probably good for anyone who wants to make a go out of being self-employed, whether it's through online content or really any type of small business.
Welcome back, and have fun catchin' up!

Ah, so that's what happened to Glozell.. but it's either more of these articles about influencers going broke will keep popping up and/or Caleb Hammer's "Financial Audit" is gonna have content for decades to come.

They don’t teach people budgeting and financial advice at all, and it needs to be taught. The amount of kids I teach whinging about not having money but walking around in new Adidas, Nike, Puma etc. is astounding. Living beyond means.

Thanks for the answer Buckley! I am reading between the lines. Mostly I just wanted to bitch about Discord which imo is a garbage platform.

It's not great, but people are welcome to lurk there from time to time. I can't really post the "announcement" (which isn't particularly important) here on Patreon because Patreon doesn't allow the particular announcement I'm making, if that makes sense (they're very strict about... umm... discussing the distribution of goods for a non-existent fee).

You're not the only one. Though in my case I don't hate Discord as much as... let's say certain individuals who aggravate and it's easier to opt out of the server than deal with the mess that is Discord blocking.

Jesus Buckley don't put announcements on Discord only! I can't possibly be your only old lady subscriber who finds that site unusable.
Well maybe I am but still...

For 5 and a half years I worked at Walmart. It wasn't a great job, pay sucked, but it did keep me afloat. My bank account during this time almost never hit 4 digits. In fact I ended up overdrafting a time or two. It took me months upon months of saving just to be able to afford a $1000 laptop I wanted to buy. After leaving that place and going to my current job I finally have what I would consider a good income. I have probably about $7000 in my account. Not great, but I'm not worrying about whether or not I can pay bills or eat tomorrow.

Watching this video made me think of Brittany Broski, who is doing the smart thing with her TikTok money and putting it away into savings!

Is there a "money to broke" video in the future, maybe an annual tradition, of content creators who lost money that year?

A lot of the people who struck it rich early in the .com bubble of the late 90s had the same fate. They couldn’t live in moderation and then lost everything.
