EARLY ACCESS: YouTube Allowing Copyrighted Music?

Every so often, YouTube sends a survey to me asking to rank them in a number of areas. I'm actually pretty surprised they continue to do this, since I give them negative feedback every single time. But one of the things they ask to be ranked on is "communication", if users feel they're kept up to date on new and upcoming features. And after watching this video, I think you'll understand why they get ranked so poorly in this, as they bury their announcements in videos a lot of people don't even know exist. Enjoy this weekend's video about a new feature that's supposed to be coming to YouTube that I haven't heard ANYONE talk about.

YouTube has announced (in a somewhat obscure video series) that they are working on adding the ability to let creators use copyrighted songs in videos legally, similar to how TikTok allows its creators to use music in videos. Buckley is skeptical of YouTube doing anything that benefits its users just for the sake of making their platform better, and stumbles across some stats that suggest there are bigger reasons as to why they're panicking right now.
