One of the questions I get every now and then is "Buckley, would you ever do another Nerd Rants?" and my answer is "if you look at my Patreon, I've done like... 10 new episodes of Nerd Rants really, they're just not called that!" Just in the last 4 or so months I've done bonus videos about Wordle, Twitch users promoting adult content by gaming their system, the outrage from Jeopardy fans over an article about one of the contestants, and maybe even the WWE fans being scammed video could be considered "nerdy content". So I've decided that, when appropriate, I'm going to re-brand that content as a Nerd Rant, and try and present it in something closer to that format (the writing for those is SLIGHTLY different than a regular Dose). Anyway, enjoy this video about a subject I've been following now for somewhere between 4 and 34 years, depending on how you want to look at it.
Over 40 years ago, the Intellivision, one of the first home video game consoles, launched in the United States. At the time, it was considered a marvel of technology, better than any other video game system on offer. Problem was, there was a LOT of video game systems on offer at that time, leading to the video game crash. And so, 40 years later, a man by the name of Tommy Tallarico attempted to relaunch that brand to a new audience. How's that going?
