At the beginning of the year, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki released a blog post that basically no one read, outlining their "priorities for 2022". And buried deep within that very lengthy post? A proud proclamation about how they plan to ensure that "videos that don't break the rules, but come close, are going to be recommended far less often". In other words... they admit they'll be shadow banning content. Buckley takes you through the article, and why a channel has no chance on modern YouTube if its videos aren't being shown in the recommended feed, even if they have a lot of subscribers and people who "ring the bell!"
