Hey everyone, it's Early Access day and this is a video I've been really excited to share with you. As you know, every year I do my list of The Worst Songs the year (and obviously this year was no exception... you've watched it already of course, right?!) but this year I thought "what if I also looked at the most popular songs of the year?" Similar to my "Buckley vs The 10 Most Popular TikTok's Most Videos", this video takes a look at what a large chunk of the population is listening to. Could this become a new annual tradition? Let me know if you'd enjoy this as a sort of companion piece to the Worst Songs list every year.
Every year, Billboard compiles their "Year-End Hot 100", which is essentially a listing of what songs were listened to the most that year. And while they make no commentary on the quality of the songs... Buckley LOVES to do that! Buckley breaks down Billboard's Top 10 songs for 2021.

As fun as it must be doing your normal shtick this is probably a pleasant change of pace. Plus, I don't listen to the radio anymore, and my pandora stations don't play any of these songs, so it's good to know what's going on out there.

There are some pretty big mainstream newer pop artists, but then everyone will go "yeah but what about this Grace?" Who will almost definitely be irrelevant before the summer's over.

Katy perry is married and now boring. Britney Spears has finally Bern freed and now justifiably wants to just live a normal life. Where is the life in pop music? It's been slow for 5 consecutive YEARS now.

2022-01-29 01:01:52 +0000 UTCThis was formatted a lot more like my very early Worst Songs videos. As far as a "full autopsy", I don't ever see this becoming the same 30 minute type of thing that the Worst Songs is, doing two of those back to back might be a bit much, but I understand the feedback.

It does feel redundant, though, when you've already talked about a song before in a separate video. And I prefer a full autopsy to just the short bit in this video. So that's something to think about.
