A New Kitten Chapter 33

Chapter 33

Blake managed to get upstairs before collapsing and crying. She was no good at this. She’d gotten exactly what she wanted, and yet she still hated it with a passion. Looking- hell she couldn’t even look at Weiss while she did it. Pretending not to care- being so distant… maybe she could have done that at the beginning, when anger and hate were still fresh and lingering. But she hadn’t felt that towards Weiss in what felt like a long long time. Subduing her emotions, pretending she didn’t care, and not giving into Weiss’s pleads for her comfort. Weiss was right. It was cruel. But it wasn’t some game. It was what Blake had to do; the only way to make what would come next easier.

The emergency White Fang meeting, unlike the ‘work’ and ‘busyness’ of the day was not a lie. It was not a lie, and it was rather convenient. Blake had been planning to just wait until the usual meeting, but staying cold and distant to Weiss for any longer sounded more like an effort in torture to both of them than anything. The idea had festered in her mind for a couple days now. Weiss would be happier with someone else from the White Fang. Someone better than to let their anger get the best of them. Weiss deserved someone better to care for her until the SDC and her father finally caved. She deserved better, and now that she was hurt, she’d likely even be willing to take to a new interim care taker- or Owner as Weiss had been calling her. It was for the best, and that was what hurt most.

Blake had grown obstinate and deadset on ideation in her mind; that Weiss needed someone new. There were no other options that she could see; just like there truly were no options for her other than leaving the White Fang all those years ago. It was what she needed, so it must be what Weiss needed too. For Blake, the answer had been Beacon; her home for a glorious year. She just hoped she could find something as good for Weiss and ideally, something much more temporary- though, that was something she had next to no control over.

She’d put what was likely too much thought into it all, but with that, she had almost every question answered. Every question save for who. Who would be best to take care of Weiss and ensure she did what was necessary until the faunus were freed and things were changed in Atlas.

The faunus forced herself up from the ground and to her feet. She was already late to the White Fang meeting again- though, the rest of the members seemed to be decent about understanding. She did have someone of dubious compliance to deal with every day after all. Though, this time, it wasn’t Weiss’s fault at all. Blake cleaned up her face and set off towards the meeting hall as she forced herself to finally begin thinking about the last step of the thing she wanted to do the least; letting Weiss go.

Sun… was not an optimal option. Maybe he would have been years and years ago, but with how things had progressed, with how bad Atlas had gotten- and most specifically with what he experienced when he tried to live there with Neptune. It was a lost cause. Sun would likely end up beating Weiss if she didn’t comply, and if a day and a half of acting cold pushed Weiss this far, then living under someone who still idealized the White Fang would likely devolve into hell for the Kitten all too quickly. Finally, he was, decisively, a man. Weiss’s keeper didn’t necessarily need to be a woman, but the idea of it being a man seemed easy to rule out, leaving very little grey area. Blake wasn’t much to identify with femininity, but she understood the context and implications of having a man do all the things she had to Weiss. She simply had a hard time imagining any chance of Weiss complying with a many telling her to fellate a fake phallus.

As far as Jaune, Marrow, the Albain brothers, they were out for some of the same reasons. Jaune would likely have been the best amongst them, but even he had grown rather bitter about all things Schnee in his year since meeting Marrow and seeing what his boyfriend endured in Atlas. Marrow might have worked too, but he and Jaune were rather a package deal, and still, any Atleasian faunus was likely a bad bet- they’d just been through too much. Atop all that, Jaune and Marrow were also off away and trying to infiltrate the army in Atlas.

That too struck Neon and Coco as well. Neon would have been a lost cause. Even with everything else about being an Atlesian faunus, and her experiences with Flynt- even if he was about to flip and help them all. Neon just wouldn’t mesh well with Weiss, and even more so when it comes to Neon being in charge of anything to do with the poor Kitten. Coco too, could be discounted for what she had witnessed Velvet enduring.

Ilia, Ilia could have been a compelling candidate; yeah, she could have been compelling if she was… an entirely different person, with a complete different history, no knowledge of the Schnee and what they had done, if she wasn’t a faunus, if she hadn’t a personal history with Blake, if Blake hadn’t fucked Weiss repeatedly but never fucked Ilia so much as once… the list seemed to go on and on and on as to why Ilia was… a less than optimal answer to the question of who to take care of Weiss.

Eventually though, Blake came around to the only real answer. Velvet. Likely, she’d neglected considering the bunny faunus because she knew Velvet was perfect. It was obvious, and yet, the idea of giving Weiss off to someone else still twisted Blake’s stomach with greed. But, Blake knew her wants didn’t outweigh Weiss’s needs.

Velvet. She was calm, quiet, tempered, and restrained. She knew when to apply force, but also how to avoid it at all cost. Blake didn’t much want to admit it because it was antithetical to the goal, but Velvet also opposed this plan from the beginning. That was likely to mean that Velvet would go easier on Weiss than anyone else- something Blake honestly felt Weiss deserved after spending so long trapped with her.

So, that was it then. Blake decided for once and for all that Velvet would be Weiss’s new caretaker and enforcer till the SDC gave in. The decision couldn’t have come at a better time, She was staring down the meeting hall. It was time. It would be hard to convince Velvet this was for the best, but Blake could do it. Not only could she do it, she had to. Better yet, Harbinger rested by the door, half shifted between Qrow’s common sword and scythe form. Perfect! Maybe Ruby, Penny, and Yang would have tagged along! It’d been far too long since she saw the rest of her old team- mostly because they were constantly on the run from Salem and Cinder with Oscar-Ozma.

Eager, and hoping that a reunion with her team could help soothe her inevitably soon to be broken heart, Blake slipped into the meeting hall to find it was already filled with everyone else. Though, no Ruby, Yang, Penny, or even Oscar. On top of that, this time they seemed much less patient for her tardiness.

“Where the hell were you!” Sun yelled, stomping his feet and already red in the face.

“W- woah.” Blake raised her hands innocently.

“You- you need to be on time; e- especially for something like this.” Ilia stammered.

“Oh- ok. Sorry, I just… I got held up by-”

“By who! By that Schnee whore! Where is she! Drag her down her; ideally by a fucking noose! I’ll have Jacques setting them free in half an hour! He’ll set them all free!” Velvet of all people demanded. Her weapon was already drawn, and shifting between the deadliest designs she’d ever photographed. Tyrion’s tail, Qrow’s scythe, Ironwood’s combined blaster, and even some Blake couldn’t recall ever seeing. Notably though, there was an absence. Completely missing from the weapon’s twitching rotation was Coco’s gun.

“W- what.” Blake could feel all her plans shatter right in front of her eyes.

“Where the hell is she! Let me at her! We can send her back in fucking pieces till-” Velvet launched, so furious that she was willing to attack Blake if it meant getting to kill Weiss. She might even have followed through with it if the Crow hadn’t swooped down only to turn back into Qrow and tackle her to the wall.

“Stand down! Attacking your allies won’t get you anywhere!” Qrow gnashed.

Velvet scoffed. “Course you’d think that. You’d never need to attack a friend; just wait and let your semblance get them!”

Qrow stumbled back. He couldn’t believe- innocent sweet Velvet could- but that was the thing. He could believe it. She’d stolen his bottle as soon as he delivered the news and hadn’t let it go till it was empty. And if anyone knew what that could do to someone’s restraint it was Qrow.

“Too far!” Ilia stepped in for the old Qrow. Someone needed to stand up for him even if he wouldn’t.

“What the hell Velvet.” Blake practically whispered, still trying to let it all soak in.

“And you! Shut your damn mouth! This wouldn’t have happened if you’d just gone faster! Should have beaten the hell out of her and started sending back fingers and toes the moment you two landed in Menagerie!”

“Wouldn’t have happened?” Blake questioned. It was obviously something horrible, but the question of what sent terror through her soul. “What wouldn’t have happened!”

“This.” Qrow tossed down the same pictures he’d shown the rest of the White fang before pulling his back up to the back up bottle from his pack. He unceremoniously plopped himself down and turned the bottle ass over end, gulping down as much as he could.

Blake knelt to pick up the pictures. Jaune, Marrow, Neon, Coco. All strung up, being held to posts open and publicly in the middle of the Atlesian streets. The only thing that covered them the same thing that kept them from falling fifty feet from the overpass down to the streets. Barbed and razor wire wrapped around their bodies. It had already cut into them and begun to tear at their skin by the time the photo had been taken. Plus the time it would have taken Qrow to fly from wherever he’d gotten the pictures to Menagerie and- “Are they still alive?” Blake’s voice shook.

“Last time I saw? Yeah. But I’m not much welcome in Atlas anymore. Not after uugh… yeah.” Qrow took another deep swig of his drink before sliding it across the concrete to Velvet. “I could barely get close enough to take those photos.”

“How long- how long ago?”

“I caught the tradewinds coming out here, twenty-eight, thirty hours? I can’t much check a watch in the air, and we’re a time zone off out here.”

“Then… then there’s still time!”

“Time fer what.” Velvet hiccuped, and tossed the bottle back to Qrow. Thankfully, he saved it from hitting the ground by launching into flight just to catch it. The lengths that man would go to for just a sip…

“Time to… to… to do something! To save them! To get them free! And… and…”

“Idiot, don’t you get it. We made a show, now so’s he.” Velvet snarked.

“Hey! Back off! It’s not her fault! It was Flynt! He’s the one who did this. He sold us out.” Sun reminded.

“It- it was Flynt?”

“There were posters hailing him as a fuckin hero all across town.” Qrow noted. “Cause he ‘halted the oncoming faunus invasion’ or some shit.”

“Damnit!” Blake cursed.

“It’s all Neon’t fault! She did this! She said we could trust him, and now everyone’s going to die! Coco’s going to…” Velvet sobbed.

“N- no! We- we can’t let that happen! That’s! No! We just can’t! We have to do something!”

“Oh yeah, like what? What’s your big plan Blake? How you going to save them now?” Velvet scoffed cynically.

“Blake… I- Velvet’s drunk, but she has a point.” Ilia tried to walk the line between judgment and understanding.

“Blake… I get that you’re trying your best… but… but don’t go promising things you can’t deliver.” Sun warned.

“Oh shut up! You’re not the one with your partner half-carved up and hanging!” Velvet snapped.

“You think they won’t find Neptune? You- You think they haven't already? I haven't heard from him since yesterday morning! A matter of hours before the ol’ drunk spotted everyone else tied up.” Sun’s voice rose in fear.

“It’s! It’s fine! I- I have backups!” Blake boasted”

“You what?” Ilia’s jaw dropped.

“I have something else! A backup plan! I- I have dozens of other photos; videos… devastating for the SDC. If we threaten it all at once… Jacques’ll have to let them go! He- he will let them go, and we’ll drag them back here. Never let anyone else from the White Fang back in the Atleasian kingdom again till it’s all over!”

Qrow scoffed. “Yeah, sure, fat fucking chance. You’d need some killer fucking blackmail for that-”

“We’ve only let the first video go public right? So- so Jacquez is probably still retaliating for the preview of the one from this weekend! Right? If we threaten to go with all of it, we have a good chance.” Blake argued.

“I’ll believe it when I see it.” Sun grimaced doubtfully.

“Yeah, I only saw the first broadcast, but… if that didn’t do it…” Qrow reasoned.

“Well, here!” Blake whipped out her scroll and flipped to the picture she swore never to show anyone. Weiss, naked in bed, beautiful things written all over her and a dazed and washed out look of orgasm still lingering over her face. She tossed the scroll to Qrow.

“D- damn… Were her… always that big?” Qrow huffed with a more curiously impressed expression than anything pervy.

“No, they weren’t.”

“Kinky.” Qrow gruffed and tossed the scroll on to Sun. From there, it rounded to Ilia and then Velvet before Blake got it back to have all of her guilt sink in. She’d promised Weiss she’d never show it to anyone… and… now this was just the beginning.

“You’ll… you’ll really save her?” Velvet whimpered.

“I’ll do everything I can.”
