Bonus #92 - I Predicted Invisible Art (Extra Dose)

VIDEO LINK: https://youtu.be/OMFTZSTQfyc

It's Bonus Dose Day! This week's video is one of those "niche" topics that, man, back in 2013 I would have made a regular Dose and it would have got like 200,000 views, but now would just get eaten alive by "THE ALGORITHM!" So, you get it here! Enjoy the absurdity that is the world of art:

Buckley's had a pretty solid run of predicting things lately. After predicting that Drake Bell was a creep and that the "Blurred Lines" decision would lead to more musicians being forced to give away profits if their song kinda vaguely sounded like another song, his prediction that someone would try and create and sell "Invisible Art" has come true! Is this peak absurdity for the art world, OR can they top this?

I vaguely recall a few years back that someone purchased an air guitar from someone else. They at least go a guitar case in addition to the certificate. Would be nice to get in on that scam but I suspect you have to be a well known artist to do it.

well that artist really made a powerful impression on me. I wanna find his squares and circles and dump all my excessive energy (and feces) all over them. It's probably gonna make them more expensive too, imagine all the energy the flies are gonna bring with them when they want to eat that shit.

In regards to the whole interpretation thing, I would definitely say the quality of the art should determine whether or not it’s worthy of something like that. Like No Country for Old Men is a fantastic film with unconventional choices that demand audience interpretation. But this is earned because the film is so good that it feels warranted.

Could be I suppose, this specific one... this guy's a fairly established artist. Not saying he couldn't also be a very established money launderer, but in order for money laundering to work you have to get the money back. If you just give it to some guy for fake art, now you still have to explain how you made a bunch of money you're just giving to some artist for air.

Installation art in general pisses me off. Last year, I had a final project on making one with some sort of meaning dearest to You, or something like that. I bullshit the hell out of it because it was really pretentious. Some other students' creations had some stupid meanings and it just went over my head.

It's called money laundering buckley

Is it possible that the buyer owes the artist dirty money or the artist is some sort of middle man for some "other form of transaction" but this is way to make it look clean.

It’s like people have made it their mission to be as stupid with their money as humanly possible.
