It's Friday! For 9-5ers that means you're mentally shutting down for the weekend, for retail and food service workers that means you're mentally preparing to deal with the worst of humanity all weekend, and for everyone here it means it's Early Access Day! This weekend's video is the return of Social Media Meltdown, and one where... I kind of agree with the people who are having the meltdown, BUT not with the reasons they're having the meltdown. Has that happened in one of these before? I'm not sure. Anyway, enjoy!
Buckley's back monitoring the reactors in another Social Media Meltdown! Nintendo recently announced the casting for next year's Super Mario Bros. movie, and Twitter was not happy with the choice of casting Chris Pratt as Mario. Not because they think he'll be a bad Mario necessarily (why would it have anything to do with that?) but for three other reasons, including the fact that he's "The Worst Chris".

I think there's still lots of work for voice actors, but if they thought they were going to get big film roles even like this with no name value... unfortunately that's just not how it's really ever worked. Even the Lion King got James Earl Jones, who was a film star before he did VO. A lot of pretty big names in Finding Nemo, the Incredibles... actors can all voice act, AND in many cases can also be a money draw. I'd argue that Chris Pratt for example, besides the Lego Movie, has been effectively practicing for voice acting for a few movies now, when he has to pretend that a green ball he's talking to is actually a CGI Tree man or a Dinosaur or whatever it is. Yes, it sucks for Charles Martinet (although I bet he's making what he'd have made anyway to be in this movie, doing the cameo stuff, no studio was going to pay him Chris Pratt money to star). Does it suck for pure voice actors? Some of them, but there's still lots of roles, they just might not be there for $100 million budget blockbusters or whatever.

I guess if we're just going to say "Ok, no one in Hollywood's allowed to be religious"... as everyone knows, I'm definitely not religious, BUT I at least understand that there are people who feel like it helps them with their day to day lives to be part of a community and believe that this isn't all for nothing, so... whatever. But yeah, I mean what group of religious people doesn't have some awful history? As long as Chris Pratt himself isn't doing stuff (and aside from one supposed rumor that's never been confirmed, he hasn't) then I say let him go to his weird little church and clap his hands and then go to work and make a movie

Pratt going to Hillsong and not talking about politics doesn’t mean he is a bad person, and it infuriates me that people are trying to cancel him for it
