Bonus #83 - People Think Animal Crossing Still Owes Them (Extra Dose)

VIDEO LINK: https://youtu.be/lOyEgGrVmJQ

Hey everyone, it's Bonus Video Time! Also, I just want to say thank you to everyone, this month is the first time I've ever been "officially" above 2000 Patreon subscribers (I won't get into the detailed specifics, but Patreon no longer subtracts people as they unsubscribe throughout the month, only at the beginning of the next month, so now people's Patreon numbers always look a little more inflated and then at the end of each month look like there was some sort of mass exodus). I hope you're all getting a chance to enjoy some of the bonus stuff, and I greatly appreciate your continued support. Anyway, enough ass-kissin', here's a new video to watch!

Over 16 months have passed since Animal Crossing was released for the Nintendo Switch. The game gave many people something to do in the early days of pandemic lockdowns, and a lot of people could easily say they got their $60 worth out of it. However, many people are suggesting they should STILL be getting more. Buckley looks at the reaction from Gaming Journalists and Twitter users who have all been spoiled by "games as a service".

Only game ive logged hundreds of hours on was the Pokemon games, Emerald to be exact, i got 999 hours on it. After that the berries dont grow anymore, these people just need to learn how to enjoy a game without bitching about it.

This is sad. I never played this game, but I have put hundreds of hours into many games and never once did I feel that those games owed me anything more. If I start to get bored with a game I take a break and play another, and then another then go back to one I was playing. I have been doing that for years. Play a game for a week or so, go to another one then another one then eventually get back to one. Some people are just terrible and too insatiable.

I agree, there is SO MUCH content in that game too. Is some of it really simple like "oh now you can decorate outside too?" sure, but yeah if you play the game right, spend like an hour a day playing or less? You'd get so much out of that. I mean these people that played for 400 hours? If they played 1 hour a day, that'd be 400 days. That's what Nintendo expects with AC, not 8 hour sessions and "time travelling" to get things faster.

I feel like I'm in the minority when I say I feel like New Horizons has too much to do. I stopped playing it because, in comparison to past AC titles, it felt like a complete chore to play everyday. I feel like the game gives you too much freedom in regards to what you can do to the island. I do agree that these people are acting ridiculous. Do they not have anything else to entertain themselves with?

I have over 700 hours on Animal Crossing, I just stopped playing in April because of other games I wanted to play. I can’t believe how entitled people can be.

This is the same segment of society that sends death threats to reporters when they break the story that a game is going to be delayed a couple of months. Toxic entitled asshattery at its finest.

congrats on 2000 patreons :) thanks for the vid buckley :)

If they clamor so much for constant updates and game delays, maybe they should play Bannerlord instead...

But the game is incomplete because of one 2-minute interaction that gets boring after like the third time you ever do it! 12 years of doing videos on this channel and I don't think I'm anywhere closer to understanding people than I was in 2009.

Entitled people, especially entitled nerds, shall never change

I left the AC subreddit a month ago due to this, just so toxic. I would love having Brewster in the game, but claiming that the game is a rip-off due to him not being in is just stupid. It's a really fun game and I like that I can take a break without feeling as punished as the previous games made me feel.

MayzyDayz

I'm surprised people still play, I think if I log now and show up on my island, the competely different villagers than I remember will be like "who the FUCK are You?"

Michał Michalski

When I played ACNH religiously, all I wished for was more clothing options without downloading those codes from other people. I don't think I ever regretted my purchase or wanted more gameplay expansions lol

Brian Pilgrim

It's always a good day when Buckley releases a new video on entitled fans.
