Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay with this week's bonus video (Patreon's servers can be a real nuisance on the first of the month, so I don't like to release anything in case it fails to send e-mail notifications and whatnot), but I promise it's worth the wait! Despite the rules in Canada to try and get Canadians to consume more home-grown content, Canucks get a lot of their news and entertainment from their neighbors to the south. And what happens when some Canadians stumble down the wrong Internet rabbit whole? Well, they basically just start repeating the same things your American uncle constantly posts on Facebook! Buckley looks at some of the comments from Canadians about the pandemic, taken from a YouTube video explaining our vaccination goals and potential timeline for returning to "normal".

2021-06-05 16:41:48 +0000 UTCCOVID is very real and at the beginning the quarantine was very important, but now with more than a year of data we know the death rate is extremely low and although there are occasional long lasting side effects such as loss of smell and taste and persistent breathing problems almost all of these can be treated, as an United States American let me tell you what I think is the biggest reason US citizens distrust COVID and the vaccine, as you know during the quarantine the George Floyd thing happened and race riots broke out in the streets, businesses and apartment buildings were burned, hundreds of innocent people were targeted and beaten just because of the color of their skin and because they tried to protect businesses and homes all while the us media and politicians encouraged the violence and played them down, despite them being COVID super spreaders also during the campaign trump was playing up the vaccine and many Democrats including the now Vice President of the United States said she would not take a vaccine from trump unless doctors told her to, which in is pretty obvious as I wouldn’t take a vaccine from junkie Jim down the street, but this created distrust for the vaccine, once these same politicians got into power they started talking about mandatory vaccines and vaccine passports to travel state to state which created more distrust, personally I have the Johnson vaccine but I just wanted to give an American point of view

Really excited for our next election when a bunch of people yell about "stop the steal" or complain about illegal votes (in Canada, and maybe this is just for smaller elections, but you can literally bring a piece of mail that says your name on it as proof of ID).

I can only tolerate people who don't vaccinate because they think those new vaccines weren't tested enough for long term implications, fair enough. I'll trust the doctors tho because if we can't trust doctors then who can we trust? If that's the sad reality that I can't trust medical experts then I have no problem just dying, that world isn't worth living anymore then.

Even my 80 year old trump supporting great grandmother got vaccinated, but thats because shes not stupid and didnt want to die on a ventilator. Some of them get covid, almost die, and still refuse to change.
